Hello,

First let me say, I'am in a location where there is no way of sending my computer in to MSI for repairs.

I Have a problem with my gt735 notebook booting. Well, lots of problems, but the not booting is a real problem.

First off,  3 weeks I had this notebook the NIC card completely died. Does not show up at all in the device manager. its like it got pulled from the MB. Started using a dlink usb Ethernet adapter for internet.

Eventually, Windows Vista started to become very unstable and would crash making me have to use the recovery menu on multiple occasions, even losing data because most of the time I would have to do a fresh install. Virus scan with norton never found anything.

Started having problems booting. It had to be a bios problem. The screen will stay black, no thinking light/numlock light will come on, just the half moon light and the power button light on the switch. I would have to turn the computer on and off multiple times and magically it would start the bios. (there would be no errors when it starts either)

I decided to install the new modified 1.0Q BIOS V1 Mod so I could run win XP on the PC (since vista kept crashing after it was turned off) I installed using the msi 1.18e stand alone installer from the usb using the guide on the forums. Installed bios with no errors. Got the computer running with XP.. Wow, the computer actually works the way I think it should!!! (besides the onboard nic is burned out) Also installed ubuntu on another partition incase windows xp died like vista always did so I could recover data if need be.

If I shut it down and leave it off for a few minutes, I still have the same problem with the bios not booting, I have to press the power button around 10 times on and off to get it to boot.

BTW, EC reset does not do anything. Also properly flashed and reset the computer after the new bios switch. I have to leave this thing on 24-7 now because I'm afraid I will be without a pc if I turn it off anymore.

Any ideas? When I return from this overseas "trip" I will send it in for repairs, i could use some help until then.

Thanks, EBZ
