Ok, I noticed this just recently, but it will do it constantly with the following conditions: Playing music in Windows Media Player while in battery mode... it won't do it immediately though... so I think it does this when the battery gets to a certain level... though not depleted. Because when I do a hard restart the battery is nowhere near critical.
