would have to ask MSI Directly but unlikely they will give you it. >>How to contact MSI.<<
So far no luck.... thousands in trash bin.
What is so special here to hide? If something broke, you wont buy same brand anymore. And if it is unrepairable, noone will reccomend it damn....
I would pay for online custommer support or any type of help for this.

F*** you msi , f*** you from me, from my 2yo girl, F*** from my wife
20 years i assembly only your motherboards, GPUs coolers in my customers PCs, i used 10 msi notebooks so far, BUT this s*** , hiding simple schematic, and wasting my money and time - F*** , i'm leaving this bulls*** . I'm dome with MSI.

So it's 6 -7 years old? They probably have parts for 2 - 3 years max, that's gaming laptop problem. Workstations may have better support. And nobody from MSI really reads this.

I do not really care if they read it, or give a f*** for us. Just sc*w them....
All electronics that are made unrepairable should be stopped from market.
Thanks for support dear forum. I'm currently choosing new laptop for work, and it is NoT gonna be MSI, I will never ever buy anything msi.
From this moment i'm selling my GX660 , GL76, My son's PC is for sale, And my wife's pc , all MSI are alredy for sale.

However, while i got mad, i started diagnosing ruthlessly.
Short on 19v > Removed 2 main mosfets for 19v supply - 6681z
still short after them 0.2ohm > removed 2 resistors after mosfets
still short after resistors > removed all 8 mosfets for CPU
still got short after those mosfets= dead CPU
Removed CPU > no shorts, all good.
For my own experiment i wasted few more hours, and that is it. At least i share the results, and would help everyone. Not like .... those c*nts.

Good bye fellows.

1. No company hands out the details regarding their boards. It's design files and honestly, they are under no contract and have no reason to provide them. Sorry, but that's the truth of the matter.
2. I've yet to EVER see a company that provides schematics, or board/PWB details, except for a few testing grade power supply companies on old models that they wouldn't support anyway.....
3. You've got a horrible attitude, and communicate very poorly. Every post of yours is completely ridden with cussing, derogatory terms, and generally, unpleasant to read. If this is how you attempted to communicate to MSI support, I fully understand why you received no support or help.
4. A laptop that has lasted nearly a decade, and you're complaining? Most hardware from that era is long gone.....for good reason.

Lastly, see : >>Please read and comply with the Forum Rules.<<

Yes it's true. However it's possible to find schematics and board views for many kinds of boards. I found them for Alienware 17 R5 (or example) without big problems and absolutely free. HP also gives a possibility to find schematics. Some docs are not free, but for MS-18121 they are absent. I found only one strange link with phone #. Is it finally good for MSI company? I think no.

That's great, they're probably user generated files. Or leaked files......
But I'm not aware of any company that will hand them out, or provide them, ever, to regular users. Which I think is the point you (and the OP) seem to be missing.....

Doesn't matter. We don't talk about regular users. We talks about people with knowledge and skills who are able to repair somethings. Almost all modern gaming laptops is not reliable. But in case there is no docs, MSI laptops are not repairable. I don't think official MSI services are able to repair the MB, but MB replacement will cost as lightly used laptop.
So, as a result people will avoid to buy not repairable MSI laptops. We can also remember another troubles with MSI laptops reflected on this and other forums (battery drain, bad case plastic quality, bad Steelseries keyboard painting, MSI software problems etc.) That's it! Is it good for the company?

Are you working for MSI?
If not, you're a regular user. That's kinda how it works......

Reliable is a very subjective word.
This user is talking about a 10 year old laptop, not something purchased last week, last year, or even in the last 5 years......
So you mean to tell me that a laptop that lasts 10 years is not reliable?

Not only that, but it's an extreme gaming laptop, not even just a 'gaming' or 'normal' laptop.....

Leaving this at that......since if you want the documents, or to complain any further, see : >>How to contact MSI.<<
Otherwise, this really isn't a topic I'm going to continue......

@darkhawk Dude , first of all i do not blame MSI for BAD products, but for preventing casual user to repir his laptop!
Your language is frustrating, and running out of point at all. "this" is subjective word, "that" is how it works, "you" are missing this or that, ...
Talk to the point! Do not waste time words for saying "this is not like you think" and blaming user, that can fix something, saving some e-waste , that he is somekind of rude, bad, uncultured person.
Think about why and how my language is in this way!
Think for the reasons to make this conversation and me being rude!

Because it is normal to get angry and rude if things just do not happen, as they are supposed to happen!!!
I think it is absolutely normal to share 10 years old schematics to the public! You as engineer , are not losing anything, but people cappable to repair stuff, will save thousands of e-waste! And NO, you are not losing money of that! Because anyone who has money to buy new one- he will buy it. But people that can use old ones, will be happy with you. People who repir stuff and have knowledge about electronics, are the people that sell 50% of your products! So, i think it is absolutely normal, to share stuff, and help your products and user to be happy!
Everything that goes otherwise is corporate bulls*** for making money! Not for intellicence, enginering, or whatever else rights!
I can't steal your product or learn anything from your schematics, except that it will save me time and money and health.
So equation is:
you help your user = good relarions, happy userS, better sellings.
you do not help your user = you do not give a fk for them= losing them.

If i had purchased the product in last 2 years, i wouldn't bother asking them, i know how it works!

Where in ALL my posts i have cursed , etc? Show me please! Or just spam and blame something just like that, to say something to provoke people?

I'm not complaining of the laptop at all! where i complained that this is a bad laptop?? where?! It is opposite if you move your brain a little! I like it a lot, and that is why i want to repair it! It does his job, suits me well...
Even if i have money for new one, they do not even make such laptops anymore, i can't buy new one beacouse it does not exist!
And what is the good reason, that such laptops are forgotten?

I see such behaviour that way - " come on , get a credit and spent $2000 (3 monhts salary) for new laptop, is it that hard? We will provide you with custommer support durring warranty of 2 years. Ofcourse if it has any problem, do not worry, our trusted service will fix it in probbably 8-10 months, but if you want, you can pay for fast service for example $200. ....and so on....

ON THE SUBJECT, as i explained, it took me some time, but got to conclusion that CPU is dead. Which is i7 4720HQ.
What MSI and their trusted service can do about it? -nothing!
They would have thown it in the bin already.
What i can do?
Spare motherboard in "good" condition cost $ 400.
CPU is "good" condition cost $150
I bought lot CPUs which has 2x 4720HQ for $30
Waithing for stencil and solder paste $16 and soon i will tell you if it is gonna live.

So if i got schematics, this would took me 1 hour.
But it took me 1 day diagnosing , half day desoldering and testing.
And in normal way, as i think it should be, such repair can be done in 4 hours + $50 parts, and serve me well for years!
But nooooo , go spent your 3 month sallary for new one, why not!?

I wanna say that, MSI politely refused to give schematics to an 10year old product, out of warranty, out of any imaginary "steal" of any kind of corporate rights or anything that is hurting them in whatever way!
However, it is their right to not do so!
And it is my right to be frustrated and turn back on them, without matter is they care or not.

P.s: i was in MSI trusted service while searching for help, and found out that they do not have any skills and do not even try to repair anything!
Motherboards from recent years worth thousands was chopped with big pliers, so they can go in trash, but not to somebody who can repair them! I was so angry... and bought one GX660 for $30, that was about to be chopped by them, to have spares for my other laptop. And last evening diagnosed it, changed c24 bios chip with flashed new bios, and laptop is working. $2 litteraly! So simple, yet someone else is angry and crying for this laptop, because probbably, he can't afford new one. Imagine that! Imagine someone's kid can' t have online classes, education.... future of this kid could be wasted beacuse of this corporate sh*t. But no, you probbably can't imagine such stuff, watching from your roof to us poor peasants.

See, this is your entire problem. In your reality, 'they are supposed to happen'......but guess what? In the real world, where the rest of us live, it doesn't.
Doesn't matter if you don't like it. Doesn't matter if you think it should be different. Because guess what? You're still not going to get what you want.

And with that......since I've already warned and linked what to do, but you continue to berate here.....

I can write as much as i want, why not!
In the real world there are no angry people? That's what you say? Dude , fo to the cave you crawled from pls. And feel free to ban me again, win your little wars by clicking on the pc, restricting users from forums.

Notebook is fixed already. At total cost of 8 days and $115. 2 mosfets and CPU replaced.
All working as intented! Only difference would be, if MSI shared those sacred schemes, which wouldn't do anything to them, and i was gonna be able to fix it in 2 days, not 8.
That is all.

So after your 30 day ban is up, you come right back to continue? No loss here.

So I guess that means no body found the schematics?
Just read the posts man. It's there that you're NOT going to get them. I'm not sure why people think they're entitled to them......but almost NO company will share schematics on their products.....
