I bought a Asus gtx 980 strix 4GB and when i installed my graphics card and checked that everything was connected properly, i started my pc but it just gets stuck on a black screen with a gray - on the left top corner of my screen and it says B2 on the right bottom of my screen. I checked some forums and it seems that older motherboards run into these problems and i probably have to flash my motherboard so that the gtx 980 will work.
Motherboard: MSI Z86A-GD65 G3
Graphics card:STRIXGTX980DC2OC4GD5

Update the board to the latest ME8 firmware bios P80: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=163866.msg1213416#msg1213416

or the latest beta P93: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=163866.msg1267835#msg1267835

Without a bios including an ME8 bios it is not possible tu run a GTX9xx on a 6 series board.

I in stalled a MSI GTX 970 and had similar problem, buy Nvidia have brought out a newish driver 344.80 desktop, and this sorted out my problem/ [/size]

It is not possible to run a GTX970 on a 6 series board if using an ME7 bios. Drivers are useless if you can't enter Windows...

some people said if they are patient to wait enough, 5 minutes + it can pass the B2 error and load and works normally
But i doubt that most people will be so patient to wait each time when turn on the computer 5minutes + more minutes delay at bios post screen
