GX600(p) not starting up

Hiya folks,

Since november '07 I'm the proud owner of a GX600p ('07 version) and up to a few days ago I was the happiest guy on earth.
Since a few days though it won't start up anymore. It doesn't even get into BIOS anymore. Only a few things still work: the turbo button, the power on the usb (external drive starts spinning) & I can hear the built in harddisk spinning. Things like numlock and the screen aren't working (which usually do when you're in BIOS). Logically it doesn't hook up on a Linux LiveCD or any windows install disk either because of this. 

I've tried to keep the power off and the battery out for an entire day Twice, but it didn't work in any way.
I have not tried to flash my bios or anything. I use it daily and one day it stopped. Is this a common problem and.. is there anything I can do at home? Losing it for 2 weeks isn't the best option at the start of a new phase at school.

Try EC Reset(see sticky topic), along with:
(1) Power on the system and wait 20~30 seconds for system to recover from O.C. failed setting.
(2) Unplug & Plug battery and AC power. Press Hot start key then press Power button.

If no change go back to reseller.

This one is new to me. You mean holding down the Hot Start key while pressing the power button might also help in some way?
Like the EC-Reset, this one isn't working either (or I'm doing something wrong). I think it'll be going back to MSI to be fixed over there.

I've read about more people having this problem, but fact is also that this forum is mostly used for things that have gone wrong =].

I just have a Flash BIOS to something I noticed earlier, it never caused a problem. There's something that looks like a battery (it's wrapped in yellow rubber or plastic) inside the notebook, behind the cpu & ram cover. It's held in place, kinda, by 2 wires which are connected to the motherboard. The battery is free to move and slide inside the space. If this battery is somehow of certain value to the bios I think it might be the cause of the problem. Just a minor detail, I don't know what is true of my assumptions......
