so, i flashed my bios and did everything according to what i read in this and other threads. But now my notebook won't start. I turn it on and it doesn't do anything. There were no errors during the flash and i am certain in used the right bios. So i thought it could have to so with the ec. (though i did what was suggested in this thread)
What happens is i press the power button, the notebook turns on, but that's it. The display doesn't turn on and the led indicating sleep mode is lit. Could it be that the laptop thinks it is in sleep Mode? Is there anything i can do?
My notebook is a gx700 extreme.
Btw i'm New here. 1st Post and already a problem :(
Anyway i'd like to say hi everyone!

You have to RMA the laptop, not much else you can do yourself.
How and why did you flash anyway?

hey, thanks for the answer.
I used the USB Flash method found in this Forum.
The reason i flashed is, i mostly use ubuntu, but it had some nasty issues, the fan was on all the time and still the laptop ran pretty hot, to levels where i turned the computer off because is got worried. This and other things. Also happened after a fresh install. I cant say about Vista really, i dont use that much.
Anyway, it was suggested to je that i try a different bios.
IS guess i shouldnt have.
What exactly does rma mean?
And thanks again for the answer, i appreciate that.hopefully this can be fixed.

return manufacturer authorisation

in otherwords contact msi or dealer and arrange to send it back

hi
just a little update. i did rma my laptop and though it all took a while, i now have it back and all is fine. even the bios is now the version i tried to update to ;) also some other problems are gone, most notably an annoying hum when i connected speakers to the laptop. so, i have to say, the laptop is now better than ever. also, all my data are still there, which is great.
i have to say, msi's rma service is great.
and i'll never again even think about flashing the bios again.

Very good.
And yes, MSI typical keeps the data, unless they can't go around a format.
