I had my GX740 for half a year now.  Just got a bluetooth mouse today and decided to turn on the blue tooth on the notebook.  After updating all the drivers from MSI (including the msi Bluetooth_3801/3870/3871 Version: 3.0.2.280), I turned the blue tooth on and...  It says blue tooth is not supported???

Any ideas?

Does the box of the machine say it contains BT?

http://eu.msi.com/product/nb/GX740.html#?div=Specification

Specification say: BT -> Optional

That means it depends on the country if they decide to have it installed or not.

I don't have the box anymore.  I bought it 3-5 months ago.  But it comes pre-installed with blue tooth controller and the blue tooth toggle LED lights up when pressed.  Aside from that, I looked around and all GX740 advertised everywhere have built-in blue tooth.

Look at the device manager, when enabled it should show.
It should show a BT-nic to name something.
Pre-installed means nothing, they use the same Windows image everywhere, regardless if BT is installed or not.
But if the BT-led lights is should be installed and show in the device manager too.

Figured out why.  The driver downloaded from MSI website for GX740 does not match the blue tooth installed in GX740!  So have to uninstall and use the older version of the driver.
