H310M PRO-VDH PLUS (MS-7C09) Won't update Bios

So according to the relevant information I have a
"BaseBoard Product H310M PRO-VDH PLUS (MS-7C09)" Mother board. This is also confirmed in the Motherboard settings.

When trying to update the bios, I get told that this is not the correct bio for this motherboard.

I have downloaded E7C09IMS.120 (coffee lake update) and also tried E7C09IMS.170 the latest version. Also the download was from here https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/H310M-PRO-VDH-PLUS#

Both are not updating the bios, the program refuses to do it..

What should I be doing?

You have some OEM board [AlphaSync]
Check it with your OEM vendor/reseller about BIOS updates.

Yep, the official BIOS is not the correct one for this board with a custom BIOS. You always have to compare the filenames before the dot. If they don't match exactly, you can't flash it.

You need to get the correct BIOS update for your board from whoever built your PC.

Has anyone been able to find the appropriate files for the BIOS update for this motherboard? I've been having the same issue. My motherboard also comes from AlphaSync originally, I bought it second hand and I tried contacting them but it seems they went out of business. Tried contacting MSI support but no success so far.

If there is a corresponding retail board model, and you have confirmed the board name as shown in the BIOS is identical, as well as comparing the boards visually (via the "Gallery" page of the support site), you could cross-flash the latest retail board BIOS version onto your board, using the forum flash tool. This can flash the BIOS file even if the names are not matching to your current one, and afterwards, if all goes well, your board should be exactly like a retail board, no more custom BIOS.
