Hello,

I have an H55M-E33 with Windows 7 and tried everthing to get sound over HDMI, but I will not work. I Googled many forums and did this:
- Installed the latest Graphics drivers
- Installed the latest Audio drivers.

When I go to config > Sound > Audio Devices. I can show HDMI. But it shows as an unconnected source (and yes the receiver is connected and TV is showing the computer outout via the HDMI cable).

I also tried starting the PC without the Receiver and TV on. And switched them on after the computer was booted. But does not work either.

How can I get the HDMI audio working? Anybody an idea?

Thanks Bas

Are you using the integrated graphics ? What does the rest of your system consist of ? >>Posting Guide<<
What version HDMI cable are you using ? Is it straight HDMI to HDMI or are you using a DVI to HDMI converter ?

Yes I use the internal IGP with newest drivers from MSI.

Setup:
CPU Intel Core I3 with IGP
Motherboard MSI H55-E33
Window 7 professional 32 bits

Don't know memory but does not seem relevant for this post. Memory size is 4 gig.

The HDMI cable is new off the shelf cable connected to Denon AVR-1911. TV is Toshiba Regaza 37" and TV is connected by HDMI to Denon receiver.

Any idea what can solve this issue?

What happens if you connect the HDMI cable directly between the PC and the TV ?

Here is a screenshot of my HDMI set up running straight to a Sony Bravia. Also using the Integrated Graphics on an i3 on a H55M-ED55.

I also tried putting the HDMI directly to TV. Did not work either. The High definition Audio icon in Sound settings is shown as 'not connected'.

To be honest I more or less have given up and put an older B-enspirer sound card in, that outputs DTS. At least that works! Should have been better to use the internal sound, but it makes the wife happy that we have audio at all.

Thanks for your help!
