I have installed two ATI HD5670 1GB on H55M-ED55. On Catalyst it does not show crossfire tab, it shows that secondary apapter is disabled. I have everything installed correctly and crossfire worked on my last Gigabyte motherboard(ga-h55-s2h). I read that the problem may have something to do with the second PCI-E being x4 at speed, when two GPUs installed, but by last motherboard was the same by PCI-E speeds. I know that this topic has been discussed before somewhere but i found no answer. Help?

I have windows 7 32-bit, latest drivers, Intel i3

ATI HD 5670 1GB DDR5(x2)
Intel i3-530 2.93 GHz (First generation)
MSI H55M-ED55
Apacer DDR3 4GB(2x2GB)
Seagate HDD 500GB
Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB
PSU- Inter-Tech SL500
PCI-E x1 expansion card- MSI STAR USB3

Windows 7 32-bit Home Premium

Actually my primary graphics adapter is set to PCI-E, not PCI

How many amps do you have on your PSU 12V rail? Did you use this PSU in your previous CF build as well?

30 if i have read it right. Yes, the PSU was the same on the previous build.

Is H55M-ED55 compatible with crossfire? All the manuals say yes, but some website review says no because of chipset limitations, bus speeds. Is someone using crossfire on this motherboard successfully? I would appreciate any kind of answer.

The board does support CF. The PCIE x 16 lanes will auto arrange from x16/ x0 to x16/ x4 according to the MSI website http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H55M-ED55.html#?div=Detail

It can't be more complicated: in manual it says crossfire is supported, but actually not. On this page it says it is supported: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H55M-ED55.html#?div=Overview  , aswell on the box. Damn!

Customer Service:

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thanks for contacting MSI Technical Support Team!

Yes, this board could support CrossFire, please try to update the BIOS to the latest version for your board from below link, http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H55M-ED55.html#?div=BIOS.
Also, please make sure your card could support this function.

Thanks & regards,
MSI Technical Support Team!

So it does support. I have to try i without the USB3 expansion card

AND IT LIVES! I changed my pc case and removed PCI-E x1(USB3) expansion card and now crossfire works! I guess expansion card was hoggin' all the action by speed!  :D
