Hello, I'd like to know if there's any solution to my problem. I have a Optix MAG274QRF QD and in the last few days a problem has been really persistant, sometimes it fixes just by reseting my monitor, sometimes it takes like 3-4 hours.
Basically it's like the lights/bulbs (idk) are turned off on certain parts of my monitor.

Here's a video showing how I can fix it after several times (actually I was trying to record my problem but it magically fix it): https://www.youtube.com/shorts/sEsZJTIS_1o

I think it's important to mention that once it's fixed it I don't have the problem anymore until I turn off my pc and come back the next day and there it is the problem again

I'm so sorry if I'm not explaining clearly but english is not my native language and some of the words that I would use to describe this I'm not sure how to say them in english

Please modify HDR to OFF in Windows OS to check.
already did it, it just works as a "reset" but remains the same if it's the start of the day, two days ago I fixed the problem by turning off and on HDR, after a couple of tries it worked. I usually have HDR on since I got my monitor (2 years) so I'm not sure if that's useful on some way
I forgot to mention something, I know that it's not something related to my PC/OS because I have the same problem with my nintendo switch connected via HDMI

I've been doing some tests, it seems that when I activate HDR right side of the screen "turns off" as well, when I have HDR off only left side of the screen ligth is off

I'm having the exact same problem, only when I re-set my monitor it only works for a few seconds before it goes back to being half-dim again. I tried using it with my laptop so it's definitely a monitor issue.

I managed to get it to work fine after a updated the driver but the next time I turned on my computer I had the same problems.

If it likes the one above then it is broken RMA return for warranty

I’m having the exact same issue on mine, I watched a video where he reset the monitor in the settings and it manages to work for a little while. That fix is only temporary though, it always gradually flickers and then the backlight suddenly turns off on 2/3 of the screen.

Great to know MSI doesn’t stand by their products, I’ve had this monitor a little over two years. Just over the warranty period, no monitor I’ve ever bought has had this short of a life-span. Especially considering this isn’t a ‘rare’ issue.

I'm not MSI. See : >>Please read and comply with the Forum Rules.<<
I'm literally just another user like yourself. So acting like *I* am MSI is all on you.

I suggest contacting MSI to see what they will do. Since I'm not MSI, I don't know what they will do about, if anything.

Having exactly the same issue, it is just over two years old and switches the backlight off after a few seconds. I have far cheaper monitors that have lasted a lot longer, very disappointed. I will look into RMA and will report back.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem. I'm sorry to bother you. Just wondering did MSI honor the warranty because I brought msi optix mag274qrf-qd exactly 3 years ago when first came out
Thank you

If you're within your warranty you can begin the RMA process; however I was 1 month out of my warranty and they told me tough luck, buy a new one.

Looks like I won't be buying MSI again. Crazy how you can spend $700 on a monitor and told that it's not even worth their time to repair.

Just happened 2 me today. Was fine this morning came back home same issue but cant fix it. and prolly out of warranty seeing as I got mine end of 2020. I have monitors way older and with way more gameplay time on them and still kicking. I'm beyond pissed now.

I've had an MSI Optix G273Q for less than 2 years now, the warranty period is 1 year, but they offer a 6 months extension if you give feedback after registering your product. A few months ago this same issue started happening. First few times the left side of my monitor was flickering, then the next day the right side was black. I contacted MSI support, they told me to reset the monitor to factory settings and it made it much worse, but thankfully I took pictures of my previous settings and was able to change them back while the overlay was black. Usually turning the monitor off and on a few times fixes it, or sometimes changing a monitor setting, but today nothing is fixing it.

I created an RMA request when it started happening, and they denied it because it was a few months outside of warranty. I don't mean to rant, but I've had other companies still honor the RMA out of the warranty period, but MSI won't. I have 2 Asus monitors that are 8+ years old that have never had an issue. This was my first MSI product, and it will be my last, they clearly don't care about returning customers. I'm glad mine was just a cheaper monitor, I'm sorry you guys had a bigger loss.

This also happened to me today I bought my Monitor in 2021, I also have an older monitor Dell pro art that's almost 6 years old now it outlasted this Optix MAG274QRF-QD
I'm gonna try my luck on customer service, it's really hard to navigate their support page

I was actually going to sue MSI for this issue but it's a lot of hassle and I was advised to escalate this first and have a manager deny me the RMA before going through with it.
I bought 2 of these monitors in 2022, the first one broke after 1 year and a half and the other one 2 years and 3 months. If I'm not mistaken, my warranty was of 2 years though.
Anyhow, they refused to RMA when I opened a ticket on the website (which worked the first time when it was within the warranty period) but then I called them, asked to speak to a manager, explained I bought 2 monitors and they both had the exact same issue and that I would take it to court if they didn't replace it. Obviously I have the pictures from the first and second monitors and I'm pretty sure any slightly intelligent person would come to the conclusion that this is not an uncommon issue. I mean, what are the odds that out of hundreds of thousands they sold that I bought 2 of them that had the exact same problem? Seeing this, I'd advise you all to call 888-447-6564 if in the US and escalate to a manager. If they tell you the same thing they told me, probably just point them to this forum (they may eventually delete, so take pictures) which I didn't know before I called but because I had 2 monitors, by myself I was the perfect example of how this monitor was made to stop working not too long after the warranty expired. I'm sure this could become big if put enough effort but I'm just passing through the US so I'm not looking to make money out of these bad faith companies. It's obviously a manufacturing defect. Hopefully the replacements I got will last another 2 years at least, which I still find garbage, these things are made to last at least 5 years, ideally 8 to 10.

You got them to replace them, or you purchased a replacement? I have the same monitor and mine failed a few months out of warranty as well. If I have to replace it myself there is no way I am going with an MSI monitor. Nothing with less than a 3-year warranty.

If I had bought another one I wouldn't call a replacement haha but ye, the first one they replaced within warranty and the second one outside of warranty. I have yet to ship it and it'll go through procedure and I'll definitely record that it's working (partially) before I ship to make sure they don't say "Oh, it got here and it's physically damaged" or something of the sort.
Needless to say I'm never buying anything from MSI ever again and I'm moving from Intel to AMD so I have a few pieces to buy and it's their loss. They may be making a bit more bucks on the short term but on the long term they'll lose a lot of clients for sure.
