I have MSI B550M Pro VDH wifi MOBO, Corsair vengeance 4x8GB 3600MHz DDR4 RAM and AMD Ryzen 5 4600G CPU. I see this 4.1 GB mentioned as hardware reserved. Is it normal or can these be reduced? Here is the performance tab ss.

Actually seems about right. Your 4600G is using 4.1gb for graphics. Me... 5600g, 16 ram 3200 2 sticks. Reserved... 2.1. I can adjust this in the bios. Lower if wanted.
Clarify.. 2x8 for 16 total.

Ah of course, for the internal graphics. It's actually somewhat of a good thing that it reserves this amount in hardware, when it comes to the gaming aspect. Because a lot of games, if they see a GPU with, say, 512 MB VRAM, they will straight-out refuse to start. You can have this on notebooks sometimes, the iGPU only reserves 0.5 or 1 GB in hardware and wants to allocate the rest dynamically, but then some games won't even launch. Whereas when 4GB are reserved from the get-go, the game checks should all pass and the game will start. So when you have too low reserved hardware and the driver is not reporting more to the game yet (until the textures are actually loaded), then some of those hardwired checks of the launcher may fail and you can never enter some games. From that end, i see why they might reserve so much.

I actually have dedicated GPU RTX 6600. Not sure why for my build it is showing this much high?

Oh? Why did you get a CPU ending in -G then? They are slower than the non-G versions because they have less cache, so their main advantage is the internal graphics.
If you don't even want to use that, a different CPU model would've been better.

Enter the BIOS, go to Settings\Advanced\Integrated Graphics Configuration, and see if you can set Internal Graphics to Disabled.

Actually I never thought of buying the GPU. I purchased that later.

I changed that setting to disable and now i regained those GBs. It is 107MB in hardware reserved now. Thank you for the help!!!!

Wants to know, if GPU gets detached now, will my CPU's integrated GPU will take over automatically or need to go BIOS and change manually?
