From what I can tell it all the problems you are experiencing have to do with the way that the card is seated in the MB. The difference between people with good results and people with bad results is the MB, and where the connectors in the AGP slot are located.

I have also researched the G4Ti Cards and the MSI seems to peroform the best compared the others on the market.
