HDD light on PT8 Neo w/ VIA RAID

Hi everybody,

Question for you all -- just built an Athlon64 based system using the PT8 Neo board. I have a RAID 0 array using the SATA connectors on the VIA chipset (not the promise controller) and it works fine except the HDD light on the front of my case never goes on with disk activity. I know the light itself works as it first lights up when the system starts. Thinking I might have plugged it in backwards I reversed the connector and still no joy.

So, wondering if the SATA RAID array doesn't light up the hdd light by design? Or any other tips?

HDD light doesn't work in RAID. Have you tried non-RAID but only pure SATA, does it lit?

What I get is the HD led blinking slightly and not reporting the true HD activity...

But it works OK on the PROMISE side...

Any idea?

I don't get the HDD light working in IDE, so I guess they screwed something up when they put the Promise controller on the board.

My HDD led didn't work at first either. All I did was reverse the connector and it worked. Not sure about raid though.
