Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z390 UD
BIOS Manufacturer: American Megatrends
BIOS Date: 12/21/2023
BIOS Version: F11
CPU: Intel Z390 (Cannon Lake-H)
NIC: Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Wi-Fi 7 High Band Simultaneous (HBS) Network Adapter
OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Enterprise (x64) Build 26100.3194 (24H2) with all updates applied.

Driver version: 3.1.0.1323 (uninstalled old driver and deleted old driver 1st)

AP: W1700K reference https://www.quantumfiber.com/conten...ment/downloads/W1700K_DataSheet_QF_011924.pdf

I can connect to the network but receive no packets per Wireshark. I've checked firewall rules. DHCP fails. There is an ARP entry for the default gateway that will repopulate immediately if cleared. Windows statistics shows traffic sent and received. Request times out to default gateway if address is statically configured. I've reset everything with netsh. Changing networks makes no difference. Previous Wi-Fi adapter works, Ethernet works, all other devices are able to use the main wireless network from the same area. Signal is good. I've tried 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, 802.11ac, 802.11ax and of course the default mode. I've tried reseating the card although it appears to be a software issue.

A fresh install of Windows 11 Enterprise also works. Not sure if its related to the upgrade from Windows 7 or Windows 10 (forget if I did a fresh install of 10) or something else. I tried copying HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip from the working install then deleting all adapters, drivers and interfaces but its still broken. I guess this can be closed but what a pain reinstalling Windows is.
Hi

Are you able to test the adapter in another system? Have you tried another PCIe port in your system?
What router are you using?
Generally we have limited possibilities here, as not many use WiFi adapters (let alone specifically MSI one).

I would try it in another system, and if it fails there too then I'd RMA it. Or return for a replacement/refund if still within 14/28 return window.

I'll see if I can get some grip on this.
Can you send me a PM with your support request/case number?

I have this one in my mobo. It works, but Windows 11 is utter crap, so I either have everything on Linux, or only bluetooth on Windows 10

Hi
Just an FYI, my contact from MSI tried to replicate the issue but it's working fine for them.
Most likely it's compatibility issue between drivers and the router you're using. I can't really tell. Mind that they didn't have a Gigabyte board to test it with.
If you can still return it then that's what I would do to be honest. Otherwise keep bugging MSI customer support.

Motherboard Z390M Mortar (MS-7C00)
BIOS E7C00IMS.1C0 (2024-08-09)
CPU i9-9900K
HERALD-BE NCM865 Driver version: 3.1.0.1323
Windows 11 PRO Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.3194)

Three APs behave the same way (W1700K, Cisco AIR-SAP1602I-K9 and Samsung A13 5G). I can't return it. So far support is a joke. Guess I'll just have to take the loss because I can't sell this to someone else in good conscious.

Are you able to try Win11 Home or Pro? I wonder if the enterprise has some other drivers of its own

That's good. So it narrows it down to Win11 Enterprise. Unless your upgrade from Win7 to Win11E wasn't a clean installation, then possibly some files were messing things up.

Hey, that's nice to hear.
Lesson for life. During the upgrade some registry entries might have been kept from the old system and were just conflicting. Who knows..
Enjoy!
