Hi guys, remember me, anyways i decided to use the snesor function on my Heatsink which goes under the processor, and since ive done this, i get LEDs saying Memory Detection Test, i know this can be caused by a number of things, and dont blame my ram or tell me to get new ram, cause it works great until i did the operation, do u think the sensor under the processor is causing this?what should i do?

scooter787b,

Welcome back to the forums.

Reseat the CPU and the RAM. Also try one stick of RAM. Just because the RAM worked before, do not rule out that it went bad, it has been known to happen.

Richard

what else could cause this, also something strange happened to my moms computer last night, while i was on the net, the screen turned black and said Windows Protection Error or something like that, it then said to restart, and press any key to resart, so i did but then i couldnt access the net, i checked to see which files had been modified last, and system.dat was one of them so i opened it up in word, and saw Creg as the first word, was this a attack on the computer or just normal :( ,so i reinstalled windows, internet works fine this morning though just to let u know

scooter787b,

With your mobo, try a different Vid Card, just to see if you can get it to boot.

As for your mom's, did the have the latest patches so she would not get hit by the attackes or at least is she behind a firewall? Could it be she opened an email with a virus in it?

Take Care,

Richard

scooter787b,

Once you get as far as the BIOS, try 4X AGP and try flashing to the latest BIOS for the mobo.

But till you can get it to boot, that is no help at all. (That was why I suggested trying another Vid Card.)

Richard

scooter787b,

Pull the Power Cord out of the Power Supply and the Battery from the mobo and wait a good 15 to 20 minutes before putting them back.

Lets see if it resets the mobo and lets you boot.

scooter787b,

Do you have any other brand of RAM to try? If that does not work, what about another CPU for testing purposes?

scooter787b,

See if you have any friends you could borrow some RAM from.

scooter787b,

You could try a local computer place and see if they will lend you some RAM for troubleshooting. (Just bring your computer with you to the shop so you can test it there.)

If that is not an option for you, just RMA the board and hope there is something wrong with it.

Take Care,

Richard

Does the system beep at all?.......do the fans spin up and any hd activity?
Did you set j10 jumper to pins 1-2 and remove j10........remove power cord from source.......set cmos jumper to clear.......now press and hold the power on switch for 4-5 secs....set cmos jumper to save......and plug the power cord back in....try to see if it boots.............TRY THIS EXACTLY IN THIS WAY................also try it with just one ram at a time.
