Help Eclipse IOH tempreatures

I just build this System and is running good but one thing the IOH is on 85c (185f) on idle what can I  do to lower the IOH...  Also what are some good bios setting for this mobo?

Hi Redx508 if you do a search for this in form there are quite a few post on this i had this problem and i took IOH of use some artic siliver thermale past and reattached to mother board got temp down to 58c idle and around 65c under load.

Yes, that's the X58 NB IOH. The MSI Logo component is the ICH10R SB ICH. Yes, the board will have to come out. The plastic spring loaded pins holding the heatsinks down, can be removed & saved to use again, but most of us are replacing them with thermal nuts, washers, & bolts. I got mine at 'Radio Shack', but others have gotten them at hobby shops catering to model aircraft & such.

Edit: Heatsink hole size 1/8" .125 U.S., 3.18mm. Length of about 1/2". Height of standoffs needs to be considered in regards to the length as well.

2nd Edit: Confirmed hardware size I used is #4-40's, 1/2" in length.

MSI's split design for me is not that good ... and even the thermal paste that they are using . I removed that crappy violet thermal interface and replaced it with as5 as well as removed the pushpin and replaced it with bold and nut ... the x58 pro as well as the eclipse are running on better IOH temp than before!

I used the synthetic 'nylon' ones. #4-40, 1/2" in length.

@ bartman1973  so i need 4 bolts of Size #4, 1/2" long ,nuts and washers.. Can I get any type of nuts?
