Hello everyone, help me understand if I can install an R5 5600X into an X370 GAMING PRO CARBON motherboard. In the compatibility section, it seems possible to install it, but only if the BIOS is updated to the required version. I'm wondering—if I update the BIOS and install this CPU, will everything work properly? My GPU is an RTX 3060 12gb, and the PSU is 650W.

This might be a stupid question, but I don’t know much about this stuff, so I decided to ask on the forum to make sure everything will work properly.

Hi

Yes that's the whole idea behind compatibility page - once you update BIOS to at least the version mentioned, the CPU should work as expected. Along with other components.

Thank you for helping me figure this out! I also wanted to ask about the BIOS version—should I install the latest beta version, or is it better to go with a different one? "AMI BIOS7A32v1Q6(Beta version)2024-09-25"

You can use the "beta" version. It's been out for over 6 months, so it's stable at this point.

Guys, after updating the BIOS it looks like this...

That's expected. You have non "max" motherboard which has a smaller BIOS chip. MSI had to remove the nice flashy GUI to be able to fit code for more CPU support.

So this is absolutely normal and I shouldn't worry? The main thing is that support for most processors has appeared? Did I understand everything correctly?
Yep it's normal. It added more processors to support list but also removed a few.

The question is, how can I now adjust the fan speed? This is all just black MSI center?
You should still be able to do that from advanced settings.
