As you can tell I am not a happy person, I have just done a clean rebuild of my system and stuff is still going wrong all over the shop!!! To start off with, my Via drivers for my mobo refuse to find a valid Via Bus Master IDE driver... and now all my MSI OEM is not functioning properly either.
At first I thought it was my previous Windows install... but not now.... still the same after a fresh install. The worse thing is... the Video in of my 8850 ... um... no software - the OEM InterVideo WinCoder software crashes before it's even finished loading... some error in the MFC42.DLL file... grrrrrr
I have contacted MSI Australia and Taiwan, they said it's InterVideo's software and they should be able to help me... and apparently there is a patch... InterVideo say it's OEM and they ain't gonna touch it... so here I am again.

yeah... the installers are fux0r3d...
Install WinProducer, it installs WinCoder... WinCoder prompts to install Microsoft HTML Help...... and from there it doesn't matter what you do.... eg: uncheck and click finish, click cancel, click finish and install it... etc etc etc... Both the WinCoder and WinProducer setups stop responding and crash.
The when you go to remove them... it runs the setup... you have to then quit and try again until it decides to uninstall.... even then the WinDVD setup crashes and refuses to un-install.
Then if you attempt to re-install then... they load the setup, display 100% completed without copying files and finish. You have to manually delete the directories, the registry keys AND the Uninstaller registry keys before you can re-install..... and you get the same result.... ie: WinDVD is buggy as hell, WinProducer works okay, WinCoder doesn't even load!!!!
I am getting rather annoyed, video editing, viewing, captureing was the reason I forked out the cash for my VGA in the first place.
Anyone out there have any ideas?
