I noticed when i set the high performance settings that my hard drive and my DVD go from 32 to 16 transfer mode?? should i leave it at 16 or put it back to 32?? is their really any difference??

Cool forums MSI!!!!

clicking on High Perfromance Defaults enables not only what you see in the BIOS, but it also affects some hidden settings you cant see.

Some people have good luck with the High Performance settings, Some dont.

What you may want to try that works for lots of people is this

Go into the BIOS and click "Load Setup Defaults" this will wipe the hidden setting changes out and return them to normal. Choose to save and exit BIOS. When the Machine restarts, reneter the BIOS

Then check out the BIOS Guide here in the forum and set your BIOS to match these settings

I use the high performance settings, this is only after much experimintation. I found the best stable normal settings and used that for a little bit. Then I loaded high performace defaults, changed every setting back to what it was before. That way I got the best settings I had found plus the hidden stuff. So far it has worked out great, no complaints.

thanks!!! i got the high peformance settings running and everything seems stable...i think when you enable them it puts everything back to default except the ram settings and the hidden features...the only thing i have problems with is the 1T command.

if i have all the ram settings set to fastest and Fast command set to ultra windows crashes with 1T enabled but with it off everything is fine. I take it my ram cannot handle the 1T command

I tried doing some benchmark testing with the 1T command enabled and disabled to see if there was a difference. My rig will run with the command enabled but between Sandra and 3DMark I actually had lower scores that with it disabled. Whether or not this applies to real world applications I don't know.
