Where can I buy the nylon bolts,washers, nuts i been seeing people talk about using?  I already ordered 2 tubes of the thermal paste...  I sent back 1 Eclipse board back to Tiger for a bad PCIe slot. That board was also getting up to 187F on the IOH.  The replacement board (im using it now while running a stress test) has gotten up to 168F  I just feel that it too hot.

I would like to try the home mod on the copper heat pipe and sinks the others are talking about in these threads but need to find the right sizes and places to buy the nylon bolts,washers, nuts that will fit this board etc.

Also, I have the i7 xtream  CPU... how hot do you think this thing should run at stock?  When pushing it i have hit 141F  THAT seems too hot also.  I would like to over clock this some down the road.... but not until I get new compound on the cpu and the bridge cooler.

I also noticed this board makes my GPU way hotter (Side of case is wide open for all this).  I put my GTX285 in my ASUS SLI Delux mobo while waiting on replacement.  With the Fan set at 40%  at idol the card was at 42c.  With GPU in the MSI board and the fan on the card set to 100% at idol, the GPU is 51c.  When i put the fan back on auto settings (puts it to 40% speed) GPU temp jumps to 61c.

HEAT seems to be an all around issue with this board!!!

Exactly the same with the P7N Diamond.  MSI either need to start using active solutions (they are much better than all this "copper" [we really mean aluminium painted] heatpipe rubbish.) or at least put some decent TIM and nuts/screws on the heatsinks.  Plastic clips just don't apply enough pressure.

I'm going to take a guess any washer around 3-4mm in width will fit around the holes with satisfaction.  Any nut that'll go through the hole is fine.  You only want them to be about 1cm long, however.  How else are you going to screw your board to your case? ;D

Also for nylon screws, nuts and similar hardware checkout the hobby shops that sell radio control airplanes, that's where all of the stuff like that that I have came from.

I'm not American, and I have never been to the US, so I'm rather useless for this. :lol_anim:

Yeah it shows the FAN and the cooling along with the bolts and nuts.. my problem is I don't know crap about sizes.. and I cant get anybody to tell me what size nuts and bolts to use.... i provided a link to a vendor even.

The vendor I got mine from, 'Radio Shack', apparently doesn't inventory the thermal 'nylon' anymore? Guess I better grab what they have left in the store (if any). Size wise, 1/2" or slightly less length, (1cm?), 4-40 U.S., (3mm? metric). For a custom fit, use a drill index set & use the best fitting bit shank in the hole, mic. it, & go with the closest decimal bolt size.

Edit: Heatsink hole size 1/8" .125 U.S., 3.18mm. Length depends on standoff height, but roughly 1/2" U.S.

2nd Edit: Confirmed the size hardware I used. They are #4-40's, 1/2" in length.
