How do I improve the IMAGE I get??

Hi I have a MSI GeFORCE 4200 128mb video card. I have been using the ASUS Digital VCR program to play my gamecube on my computer and take screenshots and stuff. My video card had a s-video in port so I use that to input the gamecube signal. Here's my problem: the picture looks all pixelated. Like little squares. Heres an example:

usually you get that strange picture when the monitor resolution doesn't match the resolution coming from the console, either change the res, or even the decoding mode of the card, i.e from PAL to NTSC etc

err, I'm pretty much a noob so I dont really know what the res coming from my gamecube would be. My monitor resolution is 1280x1024 and the color is set at 32 bit. I dunno how to change the decoder for my card but there is an option in the ASUS digital vcr progam that lets you switch from pal to ntsc etc.. I goofed around with that and it maded no difference. Maybe it has to be changed on the card like you say... Hmm I learn as I go I guess...

ok to change the pal to ntsc and back again, open up windows movie maker, choose record it will open a panel up choose "change device" then "configuration" in there you'll find the pal and ntsc settings

and for capturing off the game cube you'll have to capture at 320x240 in ntsc or 320x288 in pal ur screen doesn't have to be that small, but your capture resloution does, im not that great at this but ill try my best

looks like color carrier interference to me, I had the same thing with normal video in iuVCR, the thing that solved it for me was selecting s-video (I use a s-video connection) in both crossbar 1 and crossbar 2.
problem is not all utilities give you that option.
some work right when there's only one crossbar to select for though.
So often it's the softwareengineers that are not up with the hardware nowadays, sigh.

it can also be caused by a bad cable btw. such interference.
