How do you change your username

I see the sticky post which says

"At this time, it is now possible for any user to change their name. They only need to go to their profile, change their name, enter their password, and click "Change Profile" and the name should be changed.

There is no longer a need for this thread.

But having gone to where they said, I can't change my name. Am I missing something?

think you have to have over 24 hours on the forum since you first came on before it lets you. already had to work that out with another user and they tried but said he had 7 hours before they could change it so looks like that feature activates after a cool down Period.

I think I just saw that and thought it was an un-editable field
 
You have to wait before it will allow you to edit your name. It either makes you wait a day or a month-- I can't tell as I see two messages, each basically saying the same thing, but with 2 different dates.
