Hey all,

As the thread title says, I am looking for a way to disable Intel Turbo Boost via the BIOS on my MSI Summit E13 convertible. Under the Advanced Options, and using the unlock key combination, I see a ton of options, but nothing that specifically seems to reference Turbo Boost under the advanced Thermal and Power options.

Does anyone know the best way to disable Turbo Boost in the BIOS in order to keep my machine running cooler?

Thank you!

Not familiar with any BIOS options for it, but if you want to disable Turbo Boost I think altering your Power Plan can achieve the same thing...

Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings > Processor power management > Maximum processor state

Setting both values shown in the above location to '99%' instead of '100%' should prevent Turbo Boost...

Why do you need to disable it?
Any issue?
The convertible runs quite hot across the left side of the keyboard and the bezel along the screen. The fans are also constantly running, making the device hard to use in tablet mode.

Thank you! I will give this a try.

Thank you! I will give this a try.
You also can try to switch to Super battery mode which will decrease the laptop's performance for temperature reduction or adjust the advanced fan setting to increase heat dissipation.

If you are looking for a solution to cap cpu performance, you may want to enable processor max frequency or processor max frequency for power efficient class 1 in regedit, then go into power settings to set the desired value in MHz to restrict the clock speed

Good stuff, help control your cpu speed. Help you set the suitable clock for different scenario.
