Is there anyway to disable the touchpad via hardware?   It'd be nice if I could just simply snip a wire or something though I know that's not probablaae
I'm sick of jumping through hoops disabling the damn thing in Windows only to have it revert back and then making disabling it again even harder.  I'm actually at a loss now on disabling, I am unable to do so regardless of what I try (I can live with disabling using the Fn3 key on the fly, but that stopped long ago).
If not I guess I'll play around with covering the damn thing before I take a hammer to it.
Oh and btw, I understand this is a Windows issue and not a hardware issue and Microsoft is absolutely no hep (big surprise huh?)

Did the problem occur after Windows update?
Could you find the Synaptics touchpad device in Device Manager?
If not, perform the below steps,
1.     Download the latest Synaptics touchpad driver on the MSI website
2.     Launch the Device Manager > System devices > Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family SMBus ?A123
3.     Right-click and select ?Update Driver?, then choose ?Browse my computer for driver software?
4.     Select the touchpad driver download at the beginning and follow the on-screen instruction to perform installation
5.     Restart the system to let the change take effect
6.     Launch Device Manager > Mice and other pointing devices
7.     Right-click on Synaptics SMBus Touchpad and select ?Update Driver?
8.     Select ?Browse my computer for drivers?
9.     Click Next and choose ?Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer?
10.     Uncheck ?Show compatible hardware?
11.     Wait for the installation process and click ?Yes? to restart the laptop

Thanks!  I appreciate the responses, however none of them have worked.
I am unable to download anything from the MS Store regarding the touchpad.  Anything else?  Not a problem, I just get errors for touchpad downloads OR I already have the product installed
Certificate issues on the MSI downloads even after I import them

FN F3 key doesn't work, all other FN keys do however

And I dont have Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family SMBus ?A123 plus all other options don't work.   When I point device manager entry Siynaptics SMBus Touchpad to use the older driver it tells me I already have the best driver available, I also have no option to allow me to pick from a list of available drivers.

Background, I have had continual problems with the damn thing from the beginning with each and every time it comes back disabling becomes more and more difficult to do so.
I figured if I disconnect it physically it'll solve the problems, so I guess I'll go with Plan B and cover it with duct tape.  That should work.
It sucks because sometimes I'd like to use the touchpad without my mouse, but I can live with it for now because having me type crap all over the page I'm on and then having to reorient my screen and close all the windows and whatnot that opens is annoying AF!

In this case, use an external mouse, disconnect the network, go to device manager, right-click on the synaptics device and uninstall it, reboot, then reinstall the synaptics drive on MSI website.
or try to uninstall the Windows update KB4565503.
