how to know if desktop is affected by current intel issues?

I just purchased an MSI Aegis R2, and its running a 14th gen i9. im new to the world of pc gaming, but have been told to make sure that my bios is updated properly, but that a local store should have ensured it was already done. is there any way to find out whether i need to make any adjustments?
