How to make your laptop cool and quiet

Yup, this is the way...the maximum processor state didn't do anything for me and I don't want to start slowing it down and screwing around with those settings, so I just installed Throttlestop, disabled turbo and it's always quiet now. I just haven't figured out how to make it run at startup yet...
Have you tried this?

Cool & quiet? Not what I purchased any gaming laptop for! You can have Cool & Quiet while one is NOT gaming.
But when it's game on, fans at full blast baby. Oh please, but the fans are so loud. Better to Cool your laptop then to burn out the processor.
But hey, it's your money. Noise canceling headphones work for me. I don't hear a darn thing except for the game I'm playing.
There are also a Registry setting to stop throttling, "Processor performance boost mode". This will put a new entry for it that can be easily switched off & on.
Yes, you should restart when you change it. The big thing is no software is needed. Works for me.

Using Registry Editor, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\be337238-0d82-4146-a960-4f3749d470c7 and select Attributes. Modify the value of "Attributes" from 1 to 2. Data should read “0x00000002 (2)”. This will uncover a hidden power option.

It will add a new sub category to, Processor power management, called, "Processor performance boost mode".

After that, go back in the Power Plan Options and a new tab "Processor Performance Boost Mode" will appear. Set it to Disable and click Apply. Also, make sure your max processor state is at 100% . The CPU will now run on the stock frequency.... or I set mine at 99% for both settings, battery/plugged in, a recommended setting by someone.

In the Control Panel/Hardware & Sound/Power Options/ "Change plan settings"/"Change advanced power settings", the last 2 are in blue on the pages.

Also there is a "Agressive" setting in both categories, On battery & Plugged in, now set to "Disabled" in both categories, this knocks off Turbo mode.

You turn back on the "Agressive" for "Plugged in" for gaming, then do a restart. This turns back on Turbo Mode when "Plugged in".

You can not game correctly on just a laptop battery, never gone happen.

When in Turbo Mode make sure the Processor & GPU have sufficient cooling or ..... it's only money from over heating & down the drain.

if you are using throttlestop there is no need to disable turbo, you should just reduce how high it boost instead, disabling turbo completely makes laptop less responsive

this actually wont work for throttlestop, you need to set it up in task scheduler https://www.windowsdigitals.com/how-to-make-throttlestop-start-with-windows-11/
