I've just upgraded my RAM to G.Skill 3x2GB (1600mhz) DDR3 and i noticed a new option has appeared in the BIOS. This option is the 'Extreme Memory Profile' which presets RAM speed to 1600mhz and changes uncore to 3200mhz. Unfortunately when i choose this option my PC does not boot up. To use the Extreme Memory Profile do i need an extreme processor (Core i7 965) ?? I'm using a Core i7 940 currently. I'm guessing my other option would be to overclock my 940?
Also, does anyone know why the Eclipse hates DRAM ratio 5 and uncore ratio 10? I always get BSODs if i use anything other than DRAM ratio 4 and uncore 8. Why is this? Immature BIOS? (I'm using BIOS 1.4B5)
