So I just completed my first build (msi lga1155 p67a-g65, intel i7-2600 3.4GHz, kingston 4x4G 1600 RAM, evga gtx460, corsair 750tx psu, and more all inside antec 900two v3). Assembly went pretty smoothly, and she started right up without a hitch. At this point I didn't have the disc for windows os yet, I was a little over excited and started tooling around in BIOS menu. At one point I was prompted to insert the driver disc that came with the mb. I do so, and after a minute, the Winki set-up screen comes up. Foolishly, I chose 'Install Winki3'. Having since actually read the software manual, I realize this was the wrong choice (as this option is purportedly for installing from flash drive or something like that (and doubly so because I couldn't recognize a linux kernal from my *****)). In any event, I was never able to access anything close to the screen shot of Winki in the manual; and upon reboot, a different POST screen pops up and is gone in a flash, too fast to read (first line "Marvell..." set-up menu <Ctrl+m>). To my chagrin, the set-up menu changed completely; instead of the quaint BIOS with the bouncing icons I remembered, it was a stark blue menu with two columns of text. The right side was info only, and the left list two selectable items, one of which is my hdd. I'm guessing it's intended for RAID setup, but I've not the hardware nor the intention to do that. The only way I can access BIOS is by clearing CMOS, everytime I want to access it (not very helpful). I want to try installing Windows, but I fear that will only complicate issues.
Can anyone help me out with a walkthrough on how to remove Winki and/or reconfigure my system so I get the proper POST screen??
And in case I forgot to mention it, I am a straight noob, so any and all clarifications, suggestions, explanations, etc. will be greatly apprecitated
