I have tried just about everything I know (i.e. uninstall, reinstall, settings config etc.) and I still cannot get the mic to work. It does however turn on via the control, but that's it.

what interface are you using to connect? USB or 3.5mm? do you see GH61 mic in device manager?

Just back from vacation. I use the USB connection and the mic GH61 does show up within the Device Manager Audio Input/Outputs as Microphone (MSI GH61 Gaming Headset), but not within the Sound, video game controller section as a mic, only as MSI GH61 Gaming Headset.

ok so you see microphone(MSI GH61 Gaming Headset) in device manager?
can you test your microphone in Windows sound settings? make sure you're selecting the correct input device, and the volume bar is moving when you're speaking

Thanks and yes I have tried this and attempted the trouble shooter and tried to update the drivers although it stated the drivers were current.

did the volume bar move? have you tried the headset on another system?
out of curiosity, do you have nahimic installed?

The volume bar does not move, but the on and off function button works which is odd. I did test it on my wife's laptop and the mic does not work. I do have nahimic installed and have even updated/reinstalled it a few times. Should it be installed?

you tested thru USB and 3.5mm on both systems, and the mic is just not getting any sound input?

FYI: I have an DS502 and re-connected it and it works fine with the exception of the right speaker that cracks at larger volumes. This is why I thought of upgrading.

Note: And yes I uninstalled its drivers before attempting to use the GH61.
