Installing SATA HDD

Hi. I bought MSI GF63 Thin 11UD years ago and I want to install SATA HDD. I went to local store to ask them to install samsung 870 evo 1TB. Later, when i download my game to test the new hdd, the hdd has went missing in the system and the game could not be located. After i restart, the hdd appear back along with the game. There were also other complication like I need to setup my pin again after restart. So, I would like to ask some question and advise regarding this.
1. Does the missing HDD possibly due to unused SATA cable and bracket MSI provided (the HDD not secure its position as bracket not used)?
2. Do the battery need to be reset after installing the SATA HDD?

Cannot be 100% sure about this, but you can try to verify it. It could also be a compatibility issue between the HDD and the laptop.
