Hi all,

Intel APO now supports 12/13th gen processors.
However, the option "Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology" is missing from the BIOS for 12/13th gen users.

My PC
CPU: 13900K
Motherboard: MSI Z790 Gaming Edge WIFI DDR4 (BIOS Version - 7D91v1B)

Below is an image of the option available on a 14900K system.

1st go to device manager, expend "Software components":
1.png

For each one listed in there, do:
Right click, "Uninstall", checkmark => "Attempt to remove the driver for this device.":
2.png

and confirm [Uninstall]

Then expand "System devices":
And repeat the same steps (right click and uninstall after checkmark "attempt to remove" ),
for those 3 marked devices in there too:

Then proceed with:
Get and download this tool:
DriverStoreExplorer.v0.12.127
Extract all files to some folder and run [Rapr.exe]
and wait to all components to load.

Then:
Locate "Software components",
and check mark all Intel's devices listed in there:

Then locate "System devices",
and also check mark the followed devices in there:

Then look in the right upper panel,
and check mark [Force Deletion]
then click [Delete Driver(s)] and wait to finish.

Then close the tool.

Proceed with download Intel DTT_9.0.11911.64898
Extract all files to some folder,
then select and right click on "Install.bat" located on the extracted main folder.
And select 'Run as administrator' and wait to finish.

When it's done,
run [Intel Apo Optimization app] and see if the error is gone.
[if still not, go to device manager, delete any unknown devices [if exist] and in any cases select the whole computer name on the top,
then click on "Scan for hardware changes" and wait a bit to finish]

When it's done re-run the [Intel Apo Optimization app]

I followed every step you listed and for some unknown reason APO still fails to connect, one thing I noticed in particular is that my PC is missing the "Updater component" compared to yours. I also tried disabling my internet to prevent windows updates from interfering and it doesn't work, same with restarting the PC. I just think this OS is bugged but I don't want to reinstall the entire OS. It might be something to do with management engine but that's only a guess there. Still thank you for helping me out here.

On your screenshot those versions are after removing the old one and installing the correct one?
Or before removing them?

Got it and after the installation?
They were removed, including the extra DTT extensions. But still there's no progress, it still fails. I also tried to downgrade APO to a version back in 2024 and it still doesn't work. I'm seeing posts where the updater component is present and I wonder if that's the reason why it cannot work whatsoever. It's always missing on my end.

What versions are they?
[SOFTWARE COMPONENTS]
1. Intel(R) Dynamic Application Loader Host Interface: 1.46.2024.221
2. Intel(R) Dynamic Tuning Technology Device Extension Component: 9.0.11911.64898
3. Intel(R) Dynamic Tuning Technology User Interface Extension Component: 9.0.11911.64898
4. Intel(R) Management Engine WMI Provider: 2428.6.4.0

[SYSTEM DEVICES]
1. Intel(R) Innovation Platform Framework Extensible Framework: 2.2.10204.8
2. Intel(R) Innovation Platform Framework Manager: 2.2.10204.8
3. Intel(R) Innovation Platform Framework Processor Participant: 2.2.10204.8

Got it and BIOS version?
Does it worked OK before?
Current bios version: AMI BIOS - 7D25v1M - 2025-08-18
Microcode: 0X12F

It used to work before but I'm unsure which bios it was. I'm not going to downgrade BIOS by any means because it's stable. What I do know was I still ran Windows 11 at the time (not 24h2). Now running 25H2.

Got it, perhaps try a new OS installation then,
to figure if it's a BIOS issue or OS issue.

I also have an issue with APO. I upgraded from a 12700KF to a 14600K and only have a very limited selection of games:

I actually had a larger selection on my 12700KF. I'm running a MAG B660M MORTAR WIFI motherboard with the latest bios and newest DTT driver.

I tried your method of uninstalling the drivers but the game selection is still the same. I tried different DTT driver versions, no effect. I also tried enabling and disabling DTT in the bios, to no avail. I gave up. Any ideas?

Latest DTT driver for z790 Tomahawk MAX is not digitally signed. when did MSI start offering unsigned driver updates?
