INTEL Core I9 12900H Performance Question

Game: Cyberpunk 2077 (V2.1)
Settings: High/Ultra (Nvidia Optimized) w/some ray tracing options enabled
Profile: Extreme Performance w/Cooler Boost
Highest FPS cap: 75/80
Lowest: FPS cap: 40/30
CPU Temps: 70/75C
GPU Temps: 75C

Long story short, Cyberpunk 2077 runs fantastically well when the game takes place in indoor environments and set piece shootouts. During this point the frame rate w/DLSS stays consistent at 70+FPS. Outdoor environments and driving segments are where the limitations begin to show. There is no noticeable texture load in and object pop-ins. However, the frame rate does take a massive dip to 40 fps and even sub 30 whenever driving or walking around the open world is happening. It does stabilize after a while but it can be jarring. For certain the game is limiting the number of NPC's and vehicles that can be loaded into the game, which in turn depending on your perspective may hinder the immersion. Clearly a game that must be played on high end rig to truly appreciate the immersion and georgeous visuals. Yet this is still a highly playable experience on this particular laptop. The 8GB VRAM and 40W CPU TDP might be a limitation but as far as laptop performance goes it went better than expected. Much better in fact.
If your laptop has an RTX 3070 Ti or a 4070 paired with a decent CPU. This is highly playable and still a great gameplay experience. Comes highly recommended.

Great insights, Grieverokami! At SCL Gaming, we’ve had hands-on experience with the Intel Core i9-12900H in various gaming notebooks, and it truly delivers exceptional performance, especially in demanding tasks like gaming and content creation. Pairing it with a high-end GPU like the RTX 3060 or 3070 can really unlock its potential for smooth gameplay and multitasking. If you’re looking for advice on gaming notebooks with the i9-12900H or need recommendations, feel free to reach out to us!

Hi there,
I know that Intel Core i9-12900H can run hot but I'm confused and worried at the same time with the readings. Namely, I am not sure which program I should look at to support correct readings of my hardware. Currently, I'm playing Alan Wake 2 and I want to share some readings from three different programs (HWMonitor, MSI Afterburner and MSI Center Performance Analysis). On the MSI Center Performance Analysis the result looks promising as the temperatures are fine, but when I look at the HWMonitor results, I start worrying a bit when it hits 100°C.
RecentIy, I repasted the GPU alongside with VRAM as well as the CPU using Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and Thermal Grizzly Putty Advance. The fans and fins cleaned out from the dust too.
What do you think about those readings?

Is there any stutter or fps drop issues while gaming? If not, I won't care about the temperature lol.
Also make sure the fans are working properly.
