By searching a bit on the web, I came across this version 1.94 for our dear i225-V network cards. It is not an original firmware but modified it seems from the LM version. The link is here: Intel i225-V/LM NVM 1.94 FW personally tested it before proposing it. As you will see in the screenshot, there are no problems.
Updated this morning to 1.94, no more disconnect problems :D

Hi folks, I have the latest i225V driver for my MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk WiFi. As far as I know, I’ve never had issues with Ethernet. I only play Tekken 8 online though, and that’s a fairly small task for Ethernet in that it’s 1v1 and in fairly small maps. Ping is always reasonable.

Only thing I notice is in event viewer I get an Ethernet disconnect / reconnect (e2fnexpress network link disconnected warning event, followed immediately by a reconnect info event) when I first turn on my PC - I always assumed this is the driver initialising and windows calling for it before it’s had a chance to properly activate. I also get this warning message in event viewer if my internet goes down for whatever reason / I physically unplug it. I do not get any Ethernet related events in event viewer aside from this. I’m assuming this is normal behaviour?

As I said, no issues to report.

Before I made the recommended settings changes to the Ethernet adapter, I would see half a dozen or more e2fexpress disconnects/reconnects soon after boot up. So I would have to say that your system's behaviour is at least as good as I have managed to get it. Whether the occasional disconnect/reconnect (outside of an Internet loss) is normal, I can't say.

I also get some weird WiFi events in event viewer - several NetWTW14 70** information events (6 each boot). Appears to be related to my WiFi driver - I've tried uninstalling it / reinstalling it using the MSI drivers on my MB support page, but they always appear. Weird thing is that my WiFi works fine, although I never really use it. I also don’t have the antennas on my MB, so maybe that's causing the events.

I should probably just disable WiFi entirely in BIOS since I only use Ethernet. What do you reckon @FlyingScot? (Hope you're good too, mate :) )

Edit: looked in bios and couldn’t find the disable button. Guess I’ll just live with it.

Hi Crimson, thanks for asking! I'm doing just fine. I hope you're also doing fine over there. I mean, you've got to be happy now that winter weather is coming to a close, right?

I also don't use the WiFi. In fact, I didn't even install the drivers. But here's where my setting resides for disabling it, the "Onboard Wi-Fi/BT Module Control' at the bottom. I hope this helps you locate your own off switch. It would be major odd if your BIOS setting is truly missing. We might have to stir up a posse!

Perhaps your other issues are related to the antenna. I'm really no help to you because I'm definitely an Ethernet PC guy.

Cheers, mate!

Ahh the weather is improving. Still cold af at the moment tho! One day spring will start!

Here’s all I get: see pic

Perhaps the Onboard CNVi Module Control - seems to be related to WiFi / BT?

For my MSI motherboard, this driver update has a release date of 3/18/25 on MSI's support site. It makes me more comfortable getting driver updates directly from MSi because it is possible that MSI may have customized drivers for their motherboards.

Upon checking my chipset, I noticed that mine is newer and therefore doesn't require an update, but for those interested, here is the download link below.

Alternatively, run the command `nvmupdatew64e.exe -i -l inventory.txt`.

To update, simply change the firmware of the NVM directory in the Intel network pack and replace it with the one you want.

My NVM firmware cannot be updated, probably due to my newer version.
For those interested, you just need to modify the "config_i226.txt" file with your chipset ID codes and then run the command "nvmupdatew64e.exe -u -l -c config_i226.txt" in CMD.
Release note:
Fixes an issue in MDI lane swap handling that caused the P (positive) and N (negative) signal polarities to be swapped incorrectly.

Please note that the update has risks that it may fail, Station-Drivers and Fdrsoft cannot be held responsible in the event of a crash. !

Firmware 2.32 is included in the package, which you can download here Version 1Mo & 2Mo.
