Internal graphics card (built into motherboard) vs external GPU card?

I have an MSI B550A-Pro motherboard and an AMD Ryzen 7 5700G CPU with Radeon Graphics. It is mainly used for photography work, mostly photos but also some video. Would I be better off just sticking with the internal, built-in graphics card within the motherboard or would there be any benefit in purchasing a dedicated graphics card and bypassing / ignoring the internal graphics card capability of the motherboard?

Thats dependant on what programs you use and what GPU you get. So only you can decide that, try googling the Best GPU for what programs you use.

Thanks for your reply, Keith. Appreciated and very helpful...
Photo work is CPU and System memory over GPU the GPU dose very little in Photo editing
If you do a lot of Video Decoding then you Will want a better GPU as it will be much quicker to do the decoding and encoding stuff
