I am a bit confused from my research however when playing any game, at random times the game freezes for 20 seconds then returns to normal. I'm having other issues as well like my keys are acting like there stuck, for example when using W to walk I let go of the key and I continue to walk, this is the same with the space bar at times but it lasts for 10 to 15 seconds. Lastly once in a while my whole laptop will freeze and I'll have to shut it down in order for it work properly. I really enjoy this laptop but I've only have had it for a week and I'm concerned about these issues.

Not enough info, exact model, RAM, CPU, GPU, Temps of CPU and GPU, what games, online or single player, using COOLER BOOST, have it on a stand, Nvidia driver version, etc

MSI Vector 16 HX A13VHG-464US
Intel Core i9 13th Gen 13980HX 2.2GHz Processor
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 12GB GDDR6
32GB DDR5-5600 RAM

I just have the laptop sitting on a desk like normal. It's both online and single player. It's happening on minecraft, satisfactory, call of duty. I don't have the information on the temps it gets to. Like I said it happens randomly with freezing up along with sticky keys.

Ok, how about getting temps, knowing Nvidia driver version, if you use COOLER BOOST?

Are you saying that this issue only occurs while gaming? For example, if you experience a hang during a game, exiting immediately doesn't cause any problems? I want to determine whether it's a software issue or if your entire system is freezing during that time. Given your key response issues, I suspect there might be a performance anomaly. I recommend using Cinebench R23 and Time Spy to check if your laptop's performance. If the problem only occurs during gaming, I suggest using the DDU Tool for a clean installation of the Nvidia Graphics driver from MSI website for troubleshooting.

You can refer to the following link to compare performance. Since your model's CPU specifications are better, the CPU test result should be higher a little bit. As for the GPU specifications being the same, the test result should be close.

Did you resolve this problem? I bought a brand new msi vector 17 hx rtx4090 and im experiencing the same problem playing the finals.

Try to turn off whisper mode in Geforce Experience or in new nvidia application. If it does not help. Download MSI afterburner and monitor your FPS while you are playing , low 1%, 0.1%fps. Every time when you will have freezing issue, you just need to look at the afterburner monitor overlay, you are having such issues maybe because

1) Gpu clock goes down
2)CPU clock goes down
3) Woltage of CPU or GPU is limited and it does not get lets say higher than 45w.
4)1stick Ram may affect performance
5) You are playing in balanced mode in MSI center and whisper mode is being activated in Invidia Geforce Experience
6) Power settings are set eco mode
7) Basic throttling due to high temperatures.

You will see what Exact parameters change when you are getting freezes.

Im trying to pin down what it causes, i installed eveything and monitoring it while playing. Had it once but was too late to open the screen. I dont seem to find any balance option in the msi app, just a gaming one and its always on.

Also when it happenend again, my cooler boost was on. Is it still possible then that it is an overheating issue?

Also noticed that my msi center doesnt have balanced mode but only gaming mode.

Edit; fixed the issue where i was only having balanced mode, now i enabled performance mode through cmd command. I still had the issue once but less long so i will continue to monitor it with msi afterburner

Regarding the freeze issue while playing the game. do you mean you also need to press the power button to force the laptop to shutdown and power on?

Specific temperature of CPU and GPU? You can use Time Spy and Cinebench R23 to check the laptop's performance and thermal capability.
Additionally, as far as I know, using a specific generic version of Nvidia graphics driver and not performing a clean installation with the DDU Tool can potentially cause this issue.
I recommend first using the DDU Tool to cleanl install Nvidia Graphics driver available on MSI website for confirmation.

Ok i will try to do the clean install first and the monitor the cpu and gpu with timespy. Im also playing star wars outlaws and i dont seem to have this problem with this game. Also when it happens in the finals i can still aim perfect, looking around is super smooth there is no delay or anything whatsoever. It is just the keyboard that is running slow.

So your problem is keyboard input delay, right?
I am wondering if some of factors can cause the such issue.
1. External keyboard and keyboard-related software - Try to remove every external device and uninstall the keyboard-related software (E.g. SteelSeries software and driver) to cross-check.
2. EC - Since the EC (Embedded Controller) plays a role in controlling the keyboard, it is suggested to updatet latest BIOS and perform an EC reset.
3. Special usage or condition - When the issue occurs, you can visit the Keyboard Latency Test website to cross-check if you also see the keyboard input delay issue and record the latency time. This can help narrow down and clarify under which software or conditions this problem occurs.

It will be kinda hard to do it while it occurs because when i try to spam the windows key to get out of the game it is also delayed. But will try instal the software again.

Are you referring to testing with the Keyboard Latency Test?
If so, you can first try removing any keyboard-related software and external devices, updating the BIOS, and performing an EC (Embedded Controller) reset.
