Hi!

I have a problem when I'm shutting down my computer. The computer does not shut down itself. I have to use the power button to shut it down.
The screen "It's now safe to turn off your computer" is showing.

What can I do to solve this problem???

Hi Simpor,

In your CMOS Setup, under Power Management, you need to make sure that the ACPI is turned on, and PM Control by APM is also turned on.

Also, make sure that the Power Button is set to On/Off, rather than suspend. This is also in CMOS Power Management setup.

Cheers
Callan

The solution is very easy, only you must install the driver 4 in 1 for via chipset, whit this our computer shutting down.

Best regards for all.

Hi there,

Callan is right.....
But you also need to change the HAL from standard to ACPI-compliant......not sure, but it might...

Bas and Ray are correct - what youa re seeing is normal for a system with ACPI disabled and APM disabled int he BIOS and the HAL configured as "Standard PC"

Unless you are using Widnows 98/Me there is no need to run your motherboard with IPCA and APM disabled in the BIOS. your motherboard along with Widnwos 2000 or XP will handle all IRQ issues just fine with IPCA and APM (and even APIC for some people) enabled in the BIOS.

Please feel free to check out the BIOS settings guide for your motherboard in the BIOS forum.

Dont forget what Bas said, even if you change the BIOS settings, you will still have to change the HAL of your OS tp ACPI compianlt system.

Good advice Bas!!
