BIOS Sign-on message: MSI K9NGM2 A7252NMS V1.2 01/25/07 (Official Release)

How do i flash it?
Extract image file from archive, and burn it to CD.(example: open it with nero burning rom and burn image file to CD)
Make and ensure PC is stable, then reboot PC and boot from CD. you will need to confirm twice BIOS update when asked.
after BIOS update is complete successfully, power down your PC, remove power cord from the PSU, hit few time power button to drain electrify from capacitors, touch some metal with hands to discharge any ES which you may have, then open the case and Clear CMOS then pull back power cord, and turn on your PC, will be notice CMOS CHEKSUM MISMATCH/ERROR, hit F1 to continue to rebuild DMI Pool Data, then reboot your PC, and enter in BIOS and LOAD BIOS DEFAULT, SAVE AND EXIT, go back to BIOS and apply your customs settings.

Hi,
anyone used this bios already?
I just bought a K9NGM2-FID and I encountered problems with it's DVI output :(
I though it might help upgrading the bios.

Hi, do you realize that there is a difference in BIOS Sign On Message?
MSI K9NGM2 A7252NM2 V1.1D 02/01/07 YOURS
MSI K9NGM2 A7252NMS V1.1 10/30 MSI JAPAN
MSI K9NGM2 A7252NMS V1.00 07/0 MSI ORIGINAL
Yours (A7252NM2) ENDS WITH 2, and MSI JAPAN & Original (A7252NMS) ends with an S.
Are you REALLY sure that this BETA v1.1D Bios is for MSI K9NGM2-FID?
I want to add also that I already tested the motherboard with Vista Business 32BIT, with the original Bios v1.0 only, and everything seemed to work fine, so this Beta Bios what does it do?

yes
1.0:  BIOS ID: 63-0100-000001-00101111-070606-C51G-1ADIF006
1.1:  BIOS ID: 63-0100-000001-00101111-103006-C51G-1ADIF006

dunno for ver1.0, but for ver 1.1 & 1.18 that is not possible. as i said there is no description, its fix STOP 127 error during Vista installation.
P.S: it may vista business to be not affected. also why you need description, if you don't have issues?---> the main rule is do not update your BIOS system is running just fine. if you don't have any issues you no need this or another BIOS doesn't matter official or other status.

Hi again! there are 3 reasons i was looking forward to new bioses:
1. I wanna install Vista Business 32BIT again and make it the only OS on a few weeks, so this new bios you bring will come in handy beacuse i didnt know v1.1 can casue problems.
2. I bought new RAM, GSKILL F2-6400CL4D-2GBPK (1GB x 2) PC2-6400 (DDR2-800) 4-4-4-12 Dual Channel and this motherboard does not allow me to select 4-4-4-12, it only and automatically selects 5-5-5-15 CR2 and I'm wasting extra performance... so maybe a new bios will allow me to select new timings.
3. I wanna buy AthlonX2 6000+ and the latest CPU report on MSI website it shows Under testing with v1.1 BIOS. The funny thing is that worse mobos, like ECS6100 or ASROCKNF6VSTA supports this CPU...

CPU SUPPORT LINK: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_cpu_support_detail.php?UID=735&kind=1

There is 1 problem:
I cannot replace with a new motherboard, so K9NGM2-FID will be for a long time.

Last but really important question:
Why did i have to research on MSI JAPAN Website manually if there was a new bios? Why it doesnt show automatically on MSI LIVE UPDATE?

Thanx for all!

EDIT: I want to add this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925528 it show the error you are reporting... is it really a problem with this mobo or microsoft fault?

maybe, maybe not we can guess only. since there is no description, becouse is Beta and no official release.

"Last but really important question:

well i already answer you. becouse its a "BETA" which mean "Under testing" and its not officially certified. that's why do not exist into main site or via live update.
about issues which you have, you may want to contact MSI to have a ask there.

"Thanx for all!"
you are welcome

Hi! I was asking why it doesnt show BIOS v1.1 that i got fro MSI Japan on MSI LIVEUPDATE. Or is it also a BETA BIOS? Beacuse it appears to be the best and latest bios.
Do you know when could we expect a new official nonbeta bios for this mobo? supporting vista and what else more?
Also, should I flash my mobo with your release to use VISTA or I wait till there is an Oficial BIOS?

well main MSI site doesn't provide any BIOS available for that board. latest available via live update are 110
Or is it also a BETA BIOS?
no as i know 1.1 is official release.
"Do you know when could we expect a new official nonbeta bios for this mobo? supporting vista and what else more?"
soon i guess
"Also, should I flash my mobo with your release to use VISTA or I wait till there is an Oficial BIOS?"
well if you can wait, official release should be better option.

Hi all,
I just received a new bios from MSI Tech Support version 1.21, in order to install Vista.
I'm writing this from within Windows Vista, Installation went smooth and they changed the vga option to allow up to 256MB from shared memory (before it was 128MB max).
this is taken from everest:

Code:
BIOS Properties
Vendor	American Megatrends Inc.
Version	V1.21
Release Date	01/09/2007
Size	512 KB
Boot Devices	Floppy Disk, Hard Disk, CD-ROM, ATAPI ZIP, LS-120
Capabilities	Flash BIOS, Shadow BIOS, Selectable Boot, EDD, BBS
Supported Standards	DMI, APM, ACPI, ESCD, PnP
Expansion Capabilities	ISA, PCI, USB

I don't know if I'm allowed to upload it, perhaps Bosskiller can upload it.

Hi BOSSKILLER! I dont want to upset you or anybody, but I think we dont understand each other. Yesterday, I tested Windows Vista Business 32BIT (Geniune, no cracks!) with BIOS v1.10, the only and last official BIOS (that I downloaded from MSI JAPAN because it isnt anywhere else, INCLUDING MSI UPDATE despite that you claim that it shows, i had to manually update the bios, because having v1.0 IT DOESNT SHOW) to our nice mobo K9NGM2-FID. And it works flawlessly. I confirm this again. Dont forget that in NVIDIA official page are official drivers to download to our mother.
So the point is: what really fixes all this unnofficial bioses and when MSI is going to support ATHLON64 x2 +6000 and some memory configs on this mobo?
Thanx for all of this, I hope this thread help more people like me, because I was desperate for support about this topics.

I've also tried to update using "MSI Live BIOS" update but it stays at v1.0, not showing any newer version. However, when I go to MSI BIOS download section for mobo "K9NGM2" at MSI Global (don't add the "-FID" to your search) it will also show me BIOS v1.1 and v1.2 for download, i.e. manual update.
