Good evening, as of today, the laptop's keyboard and backlighting have stopped working. I uninstalled the SteelSeries GG application, restarted, reinstalled, restarted again, and it still doesn't work. In fact, the option to configure the keyboard is no longer visible in the SteelSeries GG application.

Currently, the backlighting is off because I shut down the laptop completely, which caused everything to turn off.

Check under the device manager, there should be a keyboard device, Standard PS/2 keyboard or Steelseries PS/2 keyboard.
Right click and uninstall it, reboot the laptop and check if it reinstalled itself, it should be Steelseries PS/2 keyboard.
And reinstall Steelseries GG software.
Otherwise, press FN+F8 to adjust the keyboard backlight level, and do EC reset if the software cannot fix it.

Hi Raju, thanks for your reply. I followed your instructions, but now my laptop's keyboard isn't being detected. It stopped working altogether, and it was working fine before I uninstalled the SteelSeries PS/2 keyboard. I also reinstalled the SteelSeries GG software, but it didn't reinstall the keyboard either.

Could you please provide further assistance? Thank you.

Try to do EC reset. Shutdown the laptop and unplug the AC > long press the power button for over 25 seconds > plug in the AC and power it on
After that, open the device manager > Action > scan for hardware changes. The keyboard device should appear.

Hi Raju, thanks for your reply.

It has been identified that the lighting works for a period of time, but then becomes frozen again, remaining fixed without changes, and the keyboard backlight does not turn on again.

The SteelSeries GG software was uninstalled and reinstalled. However, when a new version is available, the software updates automatically.

I pressed FN + F8, but no changes were observed on the keyboard. However, when the keyboard is active, pressing the FN key causes the FN functions to illuminate. After some time, these also stop lighting up. As mentioned above, the lighting remains static and the keyboard no longer illuminates.

Do you have any other suggestions or changes that could be applied?

Did you install any 3rd party software or device that is also available to control the lights? Such as Razer.
There may be a conflict between the software and the devices, which could be causing the issue.

Hello Raju, good evening,

Thank you very much for your response. I have an update.

A driver or software update was applied, and the functionality was restored.

However, I have identified that there is a game that causes the lighting functionality on the notebook to crash. The game is ARC Raiders. After restarting the notebook, the lighting functionality is restored.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Did you find a solution? I, too, have had my RGB stop working. I play arc a good bit so would like to figure this out!

¿Encontraste una solución? A mí también me dejó de funcionar el RGB. Juego mucho con Arc, así que me gustaría averiguarlo.
Good evening,

I’d like to let you know that for now I don’t have a definitive solution. A few days ago, an update was applied that restored the keyboard’s functionality, but once the game is launched, it stops working again.

What I was able to identify is that the keyboard starts working correctly again after restarting or shutting down the notebook and turning it back on. It seems that the reboot restores the software’s functionality.

I’ll let you know if there are any updates.
