Hey guys,

a new BIOS just released yesterday. โ€ž7B93v1H1(Beta version)โ€œ. But the patch notes donโ€™t tell me nothing new. so maybe they released the bios for tuning the ryzen 5800x3d? does someone know?

Not likely will have to check but have not been notified yet

Hi, this is my motherboard: MSI MPG X570S CARBON MAX WIFI

I see the last bios is: 7D52v141(Beta version) 2022-07-30
I want to know if this last version has the kombo strike for 5800x3d.

Unknown if it dose but I do not think so Kombo strike bios appear to be only on Request and placed on the MSI Moderators Bios site.

You would have to Update to the Bios On MSI Board site to find out.

I will put in a Request for Kombo Bios for your board.
May take a few days for it to be Modified for Kombo Strike options.

Have heard back from MSI the latest Bios on the MSI site for your board should have KOMBO activated.
This would mean most board 500 series will now have the function with latest Bios on the MSI site.

Hi,My borad model is B550 tomahawk, the beta version BIOS supporting KOMBO STRIKE which seems to be not available now.Did the latest version BIOS(7c91vAB)on MSI offical site support KOMBO STRIKE?

Yes it should support Kombo Strike now
MSI waved their thumbs at AMD and just did it as quite a lot of users wanted it.
Not sure if other board manufacturers followed suit/

Hello, I am going to buy the 5800x3d now with the recent price reduction.
So which is the best bios version to use for the MSI x570 unify? Beta or official? And if beta where can I find them?

I am looking for full undervolt options like setting the VCORE volt options myself. Is this possible now?
I know about this Kombo Strike feature that let you choose between 3 settings, with setting 3 having a bit of undervolt and temperature reduction. But I want a stronger undervolt for a almost silent system, I am ok with less boost clock if I have to sacrifice this for getting the temperature way down under load. Is this possible now?

Just use the latest MSI Bios for your Motherboard
And you get a silent system by using quality Cooling and fans.
Setting up the fan curves is also essential for a silent system. I have a total of 5x140mm fans in mine three are for the case and two for the 280mm AIO Cooler
Case fans are set at 700RPM and I have the pump set to increase more than the fans do in speed for temps increases.
This prevents most fans from having to ramp up past 70% for CPU cooling even under a heavy 200-watt load all core load causing the noise you want to avoid.

Almost all my Fan nose I can hear from time to time is caused by the GPU if I forget to activate the Custom profile for it, You don't really get to pick your GPU fans  but I have also set a custom fan curve and under volt that makes it quiet again. as well as gives a boost in gaming performance.

Hey I got an old x370 gaming plus is there any chance once I bios update have kombo strike setting aswell? Can anyone confirm kombo strike with 5800x3d and older motherboards?
Try this app
Only for series 5000 CPU
I have never tried it on a Older 3000 or 2000 CPU

Hi guys.
I can confirm that B450 Tomahawk (Non-max) with the newest BIOS ( 7C02v1I ) Kombo Strike is available through the BIOS and is working fine.
Using KS-3 and Hyper212 (BE) I am topping out at 76 ยฐC after ~20min of game time. Seems pretty good to me.

I have bios updated my x370 gaming plus. And successfully installed 5800x3d. It Just gimme some trouble with windows booting. After I changed windows OS configuration from UEFI to CSM and rebooted to bios m.2 was visible from my system, and then I could boot windows, just notifying in case someone run through same problem. Now on to the main subject my x370 *HAVE KOMBO STRIKE SETTING* I assume all the rest 300 as well. I did not do any testing with kombo strike yet. But here is my results on my 5 yo mobo after I ran R23 for 10min+ at stock settings on my first boot.(keep in mind I use msi frozr l in push-pull fan formation and 120mm and 80mm as exhaust fans.)

I have the 5800X3D and X570 Gaming Pls board, I've messed with Kombo strike but doesn't seem to do much performance or thermal wise. My goal is to lower temps, can I lower v-core in the bios alongside enabling KS to do so? What voltage change should I start with to determine viability?

I'm cooling with the NHU12S in push / pull, getting 86-90 degrees under full load on Cinebench and other benchmark software.
Thx

I think kombo strike is also just profile of different vcore and power limit. You don't need to do offset and kombo strike at the same time.
I think the best is to just lower the vcore little by little until you start seeing stability problem.

There is a bios issue for me on 5800X3D- B550 Gaming Plus - 7C56v1B.

The offset voltage applies a positive offset to the CPU instead of a negative one ( French MSI SAV said you don't use the right bios for this cpu..., so they probably won't forward the issue).
And i'm also quite sure there is an issue with the ERP ready which seems to be always ON (no power to USB when set to OFF). This was working fine when I was with my 3700X - Bios 7C56v17
