Latest Dragon Center can't control Crucial Ballistix RGB memory

Really hoped this was going to work.
Does anybody have any solution to this problem as MSI and crucial clearly can't be bothered.

Well ditch it and try FreeRGB or this one SignalRGB

Can confirm OpenRGB can control Crucial Ballistix memory. Having issue controlling MSI B550 Gaming Edge WiFi with MSI Center /Mystic Light installed. Going to try removing MSI Center/Mystic Light completely.

Update: Removed MSI Center/SDK/Mystic Light and rebooted and OpenRGB works beautiful. It is limited with the RGB lighting presets but it works which is more than can be said for Mystic Light...

@jdgesmlls I had some issues with OpenRGB when putting the device into hibernation/standby: https://gitlab.com/CalcProgrammer1/OpenRGB/-/issues/1523 . Your mileage may vary of course. May be this has been rectified already but not updated in the issue.

Seeing as Crucial has discontinued their Ballistix RAM I would assume they will definitely not put any effort into this anymore unfortunately.

On a side note: I had some luck with SignalRGB as an alternative.

@fritzmg - I did read about the problems with OpenRGB and MSI products. It seems they fixed many of them as the site shows they support MSI B550/X570 motherboards but that is a major headache. Glad you were able to recover everything.

I downloaded SignalRGB and don't really like the 'canvas' features. I usually just have static colors with no animations and SignalRGB doesn't seem to have many options for that.

EDIT : I decided to power off the PC, turn it off at the main switch, press and held the power button to clear any residual power and then powered back on. Now it WORKS again!



So, RGB has been working just fine.............until this morning when my PC installed update of MSI Center and also Mystic Light. Now my Crucial Ballistix RAM is just shown as "DDR4 Dimm" and none of the lighting effects work. When it DID work, the RAM was called Ballistic Tracer if I remember correctly.

Come on MSI!!!!! Get this sorted please, once and for all. It works, then it doesn't. Its fixed, then its broke again. Yo-yo effect on your software updates.

It seems that Mystic Light 3.0.0.08 will fix it, ETA: Late March/Early April.

After seeing this comment today, I decided to download and update to the latest dragon center just to try it, and I can't believe that it actually works now. Mystic light can now control the crucial ballistic rgb. No need to use other softwares like openrgb or gskill trident z or armoury crate anymore.

Spoke too soon. Unfortunately, it still seems that after sleep even the latest dragon center loses control of the RGB control. It can sometimes regain control after a restart. Oh well, back to using gskill trident z lighting control.

What's your motherboard? If it supports MSI Center, I will suggest you remove Dragon Center and install MSI Center. You can go to the Utility page of your motherboard to check.
I've seen people saying that Mystic Light 3.0.0.09 in MSI Center can fix this issue, maybe give it a try?
You need to completely remove Dragon Center before installing MSI Center, here's a tool to help you do that:

Ok so I decided to try removing dragon center with the uninstaller you linked and I also removed gskill trident z lighting control (hadn't done this before, dumb of me. ), then I re-installed dragon center and it works this time. Ram RGB controls now remain intact even after sleep. However, let's say if I put the PC to sleep then turn off the power (which is something I usually do to save a little extra power consumption during the night), after restarting and resuming from where I left off on sleep, the RGB controls are lost again. To fix this, I exit dragon center, open task manager and find LEDKeeper2 and end the task, then restart dragon center (LEDKeeper 2 restarts itself as well when you restart dragon center) and the ram RGB controls are back again.

Edit: Forgot to add, my board is MSI MAG B550M Mortar Wi-Fi.

My Ram was perfectly controlled by MysticLight/Msi Center
Now they updated some ML> 3.0.0.09 - MC 1.0.41.0

No way to control them anymore - no light at all - but they show up in System info!
I'll try the solution found up there, and report back

Do your RAM show up in Mystic Light? Have you tried every color effects? Sometimes just reinstall Mystic Light feature can fix it, just remember to remove any third party RGB software e.g. ArmouryCrate first.
