LEDs don't stop turning on at each tower start

Hello people,

I'm sorry if I post this in the wrong section, I couldn't find elsewhere a better place.

Since a few weeks now, I have a problem with some of my LEDs in my PC tower. Before that, all was fine, I configured those to be all turned off, but all of a sudden, one of the fan's LEDs setted themselves on "on" at every start of the tower. All the other LEDs stay turned off. I have to go the Wraith Prism app to turn the fan's LEDs off manually, each time I (re)start my computer, and I can't find where to go to permanently turn them off. Here's a picture of the concerned element.

What's your opinion, solution, please?

Thanks for the help. If you need more informations, please ask.

Hi
I think you could just disconnect the RGB cable from the cooler.
Also possibly there was some app update that is causing this.
It is quite typical for all LEDs to turn on when booting the system, but as soon as the software loads it should go to whatever you had it set to.

Thanks for the reply, Nichrome.

I think disconnecting the RGB cable should be the last option. If in the future I want to turn the LEDs on/off, not opening my tower would be the best option. Apps are made to allow us to do so without difficulties. But I understand your solution, I just find it too radical. ;) I'll do it if there's really no option.

I just checked my Wraith Prism app version, and it says:
- Software version: v1.18
- Current FW version: v1.01.00
- Firmware update version: v1.01.00
and is apparently up-to-date.

I don't know if there are other testimonials from users having the same problem, or having bugs due to the latest update?

What it 'strange' here is that only the fan's LEDs are concerned, none of the others in or on the tower. Would it means it's specifically a problem with Wraith Prism? Because it doesn't seem to save my preferences. I turn the LEDs off at each booting and click 'apply', but for the next one, it's like it doesn't remember it.

but as soon as the software loads it should go to whatever you had it set to
Which software are you talking about? My operating system, or the Wraith Prism app? Because this last one doesn't open automatically when the PC boots, I open it manually. And once again, until a few weeks ago, I was in the exact same settings, and the LEDs stayed turned off when booting.

Most of the time when Windows loads, it also loads configs and libraries even if software itself doesn't start. Something might have changed after an update and there you go.
I'd say you should check with CoolerMaster as it seems to be their piece of software.

Hello,
I did write to Cooler Master, and their reply was the same as yours: "unplug the wire, our software works badly". Wow, it's a so unprofessional answer from a company. Their thing doesn't work, instead of fixing it (it's not like they work in the computer industry) they advise an alternative way which is not really ideal...

Yup, that sucks. But unless they get more than few reports, they're unlikely to even care. It's quite typical in the industry.

Maybe unprofessional but is so very very True Tech support was honest with you and gave you no Run around try this and this and this kind of Fix
The ones you speak to have nothing to do with the Software, all they can do is pass on your problem to that section and till that section do their Job and Fix the RGB they can not do much to assist.

I agree Alan, but they didn't even say 'I'm reporting this to the technical service', just 'unplug, we have no other solution'.
Anyway, I did so because I was fed up to manually turn off the LEDs.

Thanks for your messages, Nichrome and Alan. Problem 'solved'.
