I captured the following screenshot after enabling Legacy Game Compatibility Mode in BIOS 115 beta. I would expect cores #6 to #9 to be at 0%.
Yeah and thisMake sure you are using PS2 Keyboard.
Also, effected games are patched with only two games under fixing: https://www.intel.com/content/www/u...0088261/processors/intel-core-processors.html
The screenshot was with MSFS running. I want to disable E-Cores to ensure that MSFS doesn't get any threads assigned to the slower cores. Are you running any game for checking?
The live temps look fine, the zero is probably just a glitch from initialization or something.Highly unlikely to get 0C reading on any core methinks?
Wow, really? That could explain it. Do people still use ps/2 these days? If that would make it work, I might buy a cheap ps/2 keyboard to take it apart and build my own dedicated gaming mode toggle switch.Make sure you are using PS2 Keyboard.
No needWow, really? That could explain it
Thanks for the idea. I tried it but the effect is the same as when I set ScrLk with my USB keyboard, which is to say no effect. I don't have a PS2 keyboard as was also suggested in this thread. No need
For testing purpose - try via: start > settings > ease of access > keyboard
Turn on > use the on-screen keyboard
Click ScrLk
In my testing E-Cores off gave higher framerate. Which IMO makes sense: MSFS can't use more than 6 cores (or maybe 4? Not sure) and Windows distributes all the work evenly amongst the cores. Now what many people don't understand, is that even single thread applications are passed around a lot between the cores for thermal reasons. This means if there are E-Cores available it's quite likely that threads from MSFS will sometimes get sent to an E-core for a while.Btw, MSFS 2020 works without any problems with P+E-cores
For testing purpose - also you can disable E-cores via BIOS settings
The Asus ROG motherboard I replaces also had a ps/2 port so I kept my P2/2 keyboard around. There are also usb to ps/2 adapters dunno if it came with my old Asus mobo but might want to try to see if you have adapter laying around? The screenshot was with MSFS running. What an epic fail - cmon MSI.(only works with PS2 keyboard).
