Hello,
Posting in case others have run into this. On my MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 (firmware v0.18) I got horizontal lines/banding across the entire screen right after a Panel Protect cycle finished, while gaming in HDR (Forza Horizon 6).
A few details that might help narrow it down:
- The lines are also visible over the monitor's own OSD menu, so it's display-side not the PC, cable or GPU.
- They stay after a full power cycle (unplugging) and after a manual panel refresh.
- I can't reproduce it on demand.
Some history: this is my second unit of this model (the previous one from a different retailer). On the first unit a similar fault showed up, but it appeared after the AI Care sensor auto-woke the screen rather than after Panel Protect, again during Forza Horizon 6 with HDR turned on (don't know if HDR is relevant). On that first unit the lines cleared on their own after I left the monitor off for 1–2 hours.
So both times it happened around an OLED Care event (Panel Protect / AI Care) with HDR on while playing Forza Horizon 6, which makes me suspect a firmware interaction rather than just a bad panel but I'm not certain.
Questions for anyone here:
- Has anyone else seen lines/banding tied to Panel Protect or AI Care?
- If so, did leaving it powered off for a while clear it, or did it stay?
- Any firmware version or workaround that helped?
Photo attached. Thanks!
