Live update Realtek issue...continually shows realtek hd driver needs to be updated but in fact windows 10 shows driver current.  have uninstalled/reinstalled realtek and live update to no avail.  Windows 10 pro shows driver version to be the one installed 6.0.8960.1 but live update says in need to download and install that driver version.

Seems to be a common issue that LU shows there's an update, while you have that version already. Or even newer. I'll ask how often database is being updated as that might be related.

I am using an old USB stick to use the BIOS to upgrade the machine. This makes it safer as I have had issues with windows based BIOS updates.

What versions are they?
And have you tried to re-install them?

on b450 gaming carbon pro wifi max

- used live update to flash bios from windows. It downloaded and auto restarted pc then hanged for over an hour. Had to force shutdown, clear cmos  and use the bios flashback/usb
- realtek driver 'update ' on live update is incorrect
- intel network drivers not installed

I use the Dragon Center which seems to be able to update drivers fine.

I installed BIOS updates from a USB stick in the M-UPDATE function in the BIOS. This works and I use an old 8GB usb stick for the task.

I'm getting the same Realtek driver issue as I saw above and it's been like that for days. I tried to use the autoupdate in Dragon Center to update a couple of things, and the install hung at the Realtek step for about 20 mins before I exited it and rebooted to try again. When I open it now, it immediately shows a "Realtek HD Universal Drivers: Wait for installing." message and will just stay like that if I leave it for hours. I tried uninstalling Dragon Center and then installing the 2.0.57.0 version I got off the MSI site, and it will give me an "Agree to the EULA"s message and then immediately go to the same Realtek message. I've tried manually installing the latest Realtek drivers, and that changed nothing, then uninstalling them entirely to get the same message. I just tonight checked again and there's a new 2.0.65.0 DC build, but it's still giving me the exact same message.

I'm on a B450 Tomahawk Max if that matters at all. It seems almost certainly more likely to be a software issue than anything to do with the board though. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Some file that says the Realtek Drivers need to finish before moving on that's not updating? I can't access the software at all anymore due to this, not that the software is terribly useful anymore after their change a few months ago to remove the Profiles automatically managing your clock/fan speeds. Just a really complicated way to change the case lights now, when it's even working.

Well nobody responded so I kept trying to fix it. Finally ended up just removing the entire SDK, and starting all over again, and it's working now. So for the next person that runs into this, because it seems like a reoccurring issue with the software and no one's posted a better solution, I found an MSI Diagnostic program that was posted in another thread somewhere on here. I used that to uninstall the whole SDK and DC, and then reinstalled them both. That seems to fix the issue.

I updated bios and then after the restart I went to switch the rgb to steady in mystic light. Anything attached to rgb headers will not light up. Only things working rgb wise are ram and Gpu. Tried a lot of suggested fixes. None worked.
Gpu-Msi gaming x 1660ti
Cpu-ryzen 3700x
Ram-2x16 ddr4 3200mhz
Mobo- pro carbon x570
OS- Windows 10
Bios- whatever released 8-10-20
Created ticket, waiting to hear back.

Ran Live Update on X470 Pro Carbon and ran the listed LED Firmware update. Update corrupted the LED controller firmware so now I'm unable to control any RGB.

Same issue here on 2 different X570 boards. I returned them and went with a different mobo manufacturer because MSI never replied to any of my tickets. It sucked because I really liked the design of the carbon X570.

Hi!, I have a MIS H370 GAMING PLUS (MS-7B22 VER:2.0) and recently i tried to update my bios firmware through Live Update on DragonCenter. The bios downloaded well, autoreboot, the bios wizard run and started to install the bios. At 100% my PC reboot and not start more. Now is dead.
I tried to unplug the power, remove CMOS battery, use jumper on JBAT1 for 10 second, remove CPU, GPU RAM etc and try to start my and nothing.
After all i connected my HDD to other PC to search the BIOS file downloaded by Live Update and is E7B22IMS.BIN, that looking for on internet, seems should be right.
How can i to recover my MB?.
Live Update kill my board.

Greetings.

Anyone tried to program bios with external programmer?. My MOBO not turn on.
My BIOS has a Winbond W25Q128JV.
You can buy chips already flashed, not that i am suggesting you should do that or anything. You might be able to get it back as other people have done the same thing as you and live update the bios. Search the forum for posts; also you could raise a support ticket with msi and ask for advice/help.
