Hello MSI Support Team,

I have a technical question regarding my A520M-A PRO motherboard.

According to the official datasheet and manual, the M.2_1 slot should support PCIe 3.0 x4. However, after installing a Hiksemi Future Lite 512GB NVMe (PCIe 4.0 x4), CrystalDiskInfo reports that the drive is running at PCIe 3.0 x2.

My current setup is:
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G.* Motherboard: MSI A520M-A PRO.

  • Storage: 1x NVMe Hiksemi, 1x SATA SSD (SATA 1), 1x SATA HDD (SATA 2).
I have already checked the BIOS and updated the chipset drivers, but I cannot find an option to force x4 lanes.

My questions are:1. Is the x2 limitation a physical design of this motherboard when used with a 5000G series APU?
2. Is there a specific BIOS setting or a firmware update that enables the full 4 lanes for the M.2 slot?

I am attaching a screenshot of CrystalDiskInfo and cyrstalmarkinfo for your reference.

Thank you in advance,Leonardo.

Thank you in advance,Leonardo.

Can you Reseat your M.2 SSD as It should go to PCI-E 3.0 x 4 by default with your CPU and have seen it where the M.2 Drive Looks fully Seated but its a Fraction of a mm out on the far end of the Longer side so its not seeing the x4 Sense Pin as its its seeing is the x1 and x2 Ones so first thing to do would be to remove it from the Slot fully and try again to insert it into the slot and as its nearly all the way down give it a little push on the end before you screw it down to make sure its all the way into the slot..
