I've recently bought MAG 271QPX QD E2 and was trying to update firmware of the monitor to the latest version (currently it's running on FW.019) following the manual from msi website, after opening the file with MSI Firware Update Utility following error being is displayed: "Get bin version and model name fail, error code:0x33". How can i fix it?

While I didn't come across such a problem I would like to know, did you use your DisplayPort (DP) cable to update your firmware?

Yes, i used DP cable that came with the monitor. I have an NVIDIA RTX 40 series graphic card, I followed the manual from the website and tried couple of times but every time i get this error.

Well, then try resetting the monitor by going to the settings from the monitor buttons and reset it and also if possible restart your pc and check pretty much anything relating to display on your PC and try to update the monitor again. Also just double check that you only have these files to work with and nothing else (attached pics). If this doesn't work either I unfortunately have no idea what the problem could be.

I've checked all that already, i restarted pc, monitor, reseted monitor, tried to do it with a different DP cable, made sure graphic card's driver are up to date but to no avail. Same error every time ;(

what did you use to unpack the archives? where do you have the files located?
and to make sure: is anything listed in the update that you are worried about? not that im against updating/flashing bios/fw, but doing it long enough that unless
it has a "fix" that actually affects you, i would hold off.
especially in the last 4-5y i have seen too many of my (tech) friends boasting about having the "latest" (version) of something, only to find out weeks/month later
that it wasnt a good idea (wrong values/bug/win update breaking it etc).
sometimes being a few month "behind" (while the masses do the beta testing), can be better, and you dont waste time with fixes/repair (or even clean install).

disconnect from network (unplug router if you have to), delete any unpacked files related to update, use something like ccleaner to delete temp files, clean the win registry (with) it as well.
then go to the win device manager, go to "view" and change "show hidden devices", now expand all entries in the list, and clear out ALL that arent "solid" in color,
if win asks about deleting the driver decline that.

shutdown pc/moni, turn off main switch on psu, remove both power cords, switch psu to on (with cord unplugged), press and hold power button(s) for 30s to discharge power supply (pc and moni), psu switch to off again, plug cords back in, switch psu to on, power up pc/moni and boot win.

turn off any AV/anti malware stuff you have, unpack the archives again, and see if you can update.
dont forget to turn AV back on after everything (and before going online).
