MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 - Black Flickering Issue

Hello! I'm experiencing black flickering issues on my MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 monitor.
They always happen randomly, so it's very difficult to reproduce, but I somehow managed to capture it on video:

I've tried absolutely everything: reinstalling the NVIDIA driver, rolling back to the previous driver version, unplugging and plugging the power cable, plugging the cable into a different port on the graphics card, resetting the settings, changing the refresh rate, disabling G-Sync, replacing the cable itself, switching from DisplayPort to HDMI...
I'd also really like to try updating the firmware on this monitor, but the problem is, there's no firmware update! The official website is empty.
Apparently, I'm not the only one experiencing this, so I don't even know if it's a defect or a firmware issue. My PC and graphics card are definitely fine, as my previous monitor didn't have this kind of issue.

Has anyone else encountered this and how can I solve it?

Can't really help here but MSI "MAG" series monitor tends to miss the capability to do firmware update. It's 2026 and we still have a rather pricey monitor that cannot support such a basic function from MSI. :smash2:

I'm also experiencing this issue on my msi 272qp x50 but only whenever I switch the bit depth to 10-bit. Still unsure if I've received a defect or if its a firmware issue. Have you figured out a solved for it yet?

Unfortunately, no. They seemed to become a little less frequent for me when I switched to HDMI 2.1, but the problem wasn't completely resolved.

I have the same exact problem on my 272URX.
In my case it seems to be tied to VRR as I can reproduce the blinking more consistently when pausing a the playback of a 24Hz video on MPV (which engages GSync while playing).
Interestingly using the MPV method the blinking appears at random but when it happens it always blinks twice in a row.
When playing games and being on the desktop the blinking is quite infrequent and is singular like in the video shown by the post author.
I've already updated my monitor firmware (both MCU and Scaler) and tried to rollback the NVIDIA drivers, to no avail

I wonder what is going on there, I find it odd to find the very same symptoms across multiple monitors models like that so I wonder if there is not a weird interaction between the monitor and Nvidia driver somehow…

What are your PC's specs? If this issue is driver-related, could it be specific to certain graphics cards? We need to gather more data.
