The moderator team is aware that there have been multiple similar reports regarding SDR dimming and Protect Notice setting changing unexpectedly.
We are doing our best to keep MSI fully informed of the situation.
So far, MSI’s preliminary testing has not reproduced the issue. To help them continue their investigation, please answer the questions below using the same format.
We will collect all responses and forward them to MSI for further testing and analysis.

1. Is windows HDR enabled or not?
2. Is it a dual monitor setup or one monitor only?
3. Which game causes the problem? Does it support HDR?
4. If not happening in game, when the problem occur, is there SDR and HDR content playing at the same time?
4. Any other settings you apply? Higher refresh rate etc?
5. Firmware version
- If possible, please make a video of the issue and upload to google drive and provide link

2025/12/19 Update
For Protect Notice, it is according to firmware design.

Protect notice prompt has 4 options
- Execute = run OLED care now
- Cancel = Remind again based on the Protect Notice time setting or execute OLED care when monitor is off or in power saving mode
- Later = Force Protect Notice settings to 24hrs, remind again after monitor had been used for 24hrs or execute OLED care when monitor is off or in power saving mode
- More info = Explanation of each button and OLED care
For anyone experiences the "option reset" problem, please only use "cancel" instead of "later" to avoid the behavior.

For the dimming
1. Windows HDR Is not enabled, i tried enabling it. It seems like it either makes the dimming happen later nor it fixes it, but i don't use it because it washes off all colors
2. I have two monitors, the 2nd one is MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD
3. Darkorbit, Remenant 2 too, Osu!, happened on desktop too
4. Looks like when there is lot of changing on the screen, like film, or watching anime it doesnt happen.
5. FW.116
It's not really visible on camera. But in person it is very noticeable.
