I've had the monitor two months and yesterday I got a prompt to run Panel Protect, I had seen this once before and this time I chose to run it. It completed after a few minutes but ever since then HDR does not appear to be applying correctly and looks closer to (and worse than) SDR.
HDR now looks a little washed out and black levels don't look correct. The issue is most noticeable when in Windows (presumably when it tries to adjust SDR content for my HDR display) where dark areas of images appear too bright as if the colour tone mapping(?) is wrong. Native HDR content doesn't present obvious issues at first, but it no longer looks much different than SDR and there is a bit of a bright haze over everything. I've noticed this on both my PC and Consoles. Turning down the peak brightness/paperwhite setting does not help as it just makes the image too dim without really improving anything. Currently my image looks a bit better with HDR off, but before this issue HDR looked great everywhere.
I've tried updating the firmware to v.120, proceeding to remove the power cable for a while, resetting the config in OSD, trying different cables etc, nothing has helped.
I'll submit a support ticket, hoping there's an easy fix but it's looking unlikely.
